Betfred Sister Sites

Betfred and the Betfred sister sites belong to the Petfre (Gibraltar) Limited platform, but Petfre (Gibraltar) Limited is little more than a disguise – it’s merely Betfred wearing a mask. The history of Betfred as both a betting brand and an organisation goes back long before the beginning of the internet betting age, but we’re sure that most people reading this knew that already. There aren’t as many sites on this network as you might expect there to be for a company of such age and of such high profile, but perhaps that’s because the focus is on quality rather than quantity. Let’s find out by taking a closer look at the Betfred sister sites.

OddsKing

OddsKing Casino logo

When a gambling website has a name like “Oddsking,” it’s usually a shorthand way of telling you that it’s a sports betting website. You’ll find sports betting available at this Betfred sister site, but Oddsking is an online casino that’s likely to exceed your expectations of it. Sports betting is just one aspect of what this large-scale casino site provides. It also has online slots, progressive jackpot games, a live casino and even a lotto section. With the exception of bingo, Oddsking covers every popular form of online gaming. It prides itself on its “arcade” focus, meaning that you’re likely to find a decent selection of modern, bonus-heavy games within its collection. It’s a strange fit among the family of Betfred sister sites because it’s the only member of the family that doesn’t come with Betfred branding, but that doesn’t make it a lesser website – if anything, it’s quite the opposite. Oddsking is a better-stocked casino site than Betfred Casino itself, and if you were faced with a binary choice between the two, this is the one that would get our recommendation. Oddsking might be different to Betfred because the famous brand name doesn’t appear in its title or its URL, but when it comes to a like-for-like comparison Oddsking is difficult to beat.

Betfred Bingo

Betfred Bingo logo

Betfred Bingo is the part of the Betfred site that’s given over to bingo. There’s such a specific focus on bingo at this minisite that it deserves to be treated as a Betfred sister site in its own right. Betfred Bingo doesn’t fall into the same trap so many big-brand bingo sites have fallen into by adding hundreds of non-bingo games to its offering. There are a handful of other games you could try if your favourite bingo room isn’t open when you arrive, but for the main part, this is a bingo-only page. The feeling of playing bingo can be a difficult one for online casinos to replicate because of the social aspect of the game. Betfred Bingo deals with that by having special chat-focused rooms that are more about socialising than they are playing. Don’t mistake that for weakness, though – if you’d rather get your head down and focus on the numbers there are plenty of rooms where you can do that instead. Four-figure jackpots are a common event at Betfred Bingo, and the minisite tends to be busy. Betfred Bingo and Betfred are comparable in name only – these two Betfred products have almost nothing in common.

Betfred Casino

Betfred Casino logo

Betfred Casino is a second Betfred sister site spun from the same cloth as Betfred. It’s contained within the site, and it suffers a little because of that. There’s enough content at Betfred Casino to justify giving it a space of its own, and it would arguably be more worthy of that space than Odds King. Nevertheless, Betfred Casino is worth a visit if you’re a fan of both slots and sports even if it isn’t a triumph of web design or engineering. Betfred Casino makes clever use of its parent company’s sporting connections to bring you slots with a sporting flavour. The official online slots of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Brian Lara, Bobby George, and AP McCoy are all given prominent billing at Betfred Casino, as are banner adverts starring Michael Buffer, the legendary voice of boxing. This isn’t the most well-supplied casino you’ll ever see – it’s several hundred games short of that mark – but it can be entertaining if you’re a sports fan and it’s a logical extension of the Betfred brand. There’s little point in dwelling on the differences between Betfred Casino and Betfred because they were designed to be different. As with the other Betfred-branded minisites, the comparison is there in name only.

Betfred News

: Swansea Council recently made a decisive move by refusing a planning application from Done Brothers, trading as Betfred, one of the UK’s largest bookmakers. Betfred sought to transform a vacant retail unit at 8 Union Street in Swansea city centre into a new betting shop. However, the council rejected the application, citing concerns about the impact on the area’s retail diversity and vitality. The council’s decision was based on the premise that introducing a betting shop in this prime retail location would lead to an “unacceptable dilution” of retail offerings. This move would not only diminish the variety of shops but also fail to maintain and enhance the vibrancy of Union Street, a key shopping area in Swansea. The council also noted that the vacant unit had not been on the market for the standard 12-month period, suggesting that other potential uses for the space had not been fully explored.

Betfred Swansea Permission denied

Previously occupied by ShoeZone, the unit in question was left empty when the store relocated to larger premises. Betfred’s plan involved moving its existing business from Oxford Street to this more central location. However, the council’s refusal means that the number of bookmakers in the city centre remains unchanged, and the prime retail space is preserved for potentially more diverse use. This decision by Swansea Council reflects a broader sentiment among many councils and local communities across the UK, who are increasingly cautious about the proliferation of bookmakers and other gambling establishments. Such establishments are often seen as contributing little to the diversity and health of high streets, particularly in prime retail areas.

: Each major football fixture presents a new opportunity for sportsbooks to showcase their promotions, as seen in the recent talkSPORT feature on the upcoming Birmingham vs Leicester Championship match. Betfred, a prominent bookmaker, is at the forefront of these promotions, offering enticing deals for new members. Leicester City, currently leading the Championship, is set to face Birmingham at St Andrew’s, aiming to widen their lead at the top of the table. Betfred has positioned Leicester as the favourites, with odds of 4/9 for an away win. Birmingham, on the other hand, is seen as the underdog, with their victory priced at 6/1 and a draw at 10/3. This match is crucial for Leicester to maintain their lead, especially after Ipswich Town, placed second, only managed a draw in their recent game.

Betfred’s promotional offer for this match is particularly noteworthy. New customers who bet £10 can receive £40 in bonuses, a deal that is sure to attract football betting enthusiasts. This offer is subject to terms and conditions, including a requirement for new UK customers to register using a specific promo code and place their first bet of £10 or more on sports within 7 days of registration. Leicester, under the guidance of Enzo Maresca, has been performing exceptionally well, winning their last three matches and boasting the best away record in the league. Birmingham, however, has been struggling since the sacking of John Eustace and the appointment of Wayne Rooney as his successor. Rooney’s tenure has seen just two wins in ten matches, leaving Birmingham in a precarious position near the relegation zone.

: This week, the Leeds Rhinos have announced a thrilling opportunity for rugby league fans: tickets for their home games in the 2024 Betfred Super League are now available for purchase. The season will commence with a highly anticipated match against the Salford Red Devils on Friday, 16th February, at the iconic AMT Headingley Stadium. This opener is especially noteworthy as Brodie Croft and Andy Ackers are set to debut against their former team. Throughout the season, the Rhinos are scheduled to play 13 league games on their home ground. This includes exciting fixtures against last year’s Grand Finalists, Catalans Dragons, and the reigning World Club Champions, St Helens. April will see Sam Burgess’s Warrington Wolves make their first appearance at AMT Headingley, followed by a clash with local rivals, Huddersfield Giants. The schedule also features matches against newcomers London Broncos, Castleford Tigers, Betfred Challenge Cup holders Leigh Leopards, and last year’s Betfred Super League Wigan Warriors.

Betfred Leeds Rhinos

Fans are encouraged to act swiftly to secure their spots, as these high-octane matches are expected to attract large crowds. Ticket prices have been thoughtfully structured to cater to a wide range of spectators. Adults can purchase advance tickets for terraces at £25, with matchday prices slightly higher at £27. Concessions, including senior citizens, young adults, and disabled individuals, can avail of reduced rates, with advance tickets starting at £20 and matchday tickets at £22. Special pricing is also available for juniors under 16. To ensure a seamless ticket-buying experience, fans can visit tickets.therhinos.co.uk or contact the ticket office.

: talkSPORT has provided an insightful preview and betting tips for the upcoming Premier League match between Luton Town and Arsenal, set to take place at Kenilworth Road. In this midweek clash, Luton, currently struggling in the league but having secured five points in their last four games, face a formidable opponent in Arsenal. The Gunners, showing strong form, are heavily favoured with odds of 1/5 for a win, while Luton stands at a distant 12/1, and a draw is pegged at 11/2. In addition to the match preview, talkSPORT has highlighted a promotional offer from Betfred, enticing new customers with a bet of £10 to get £40 in bonuses. This offer is available to UK customers aged 18 and over who register using a specific promo code and place their first bet of £10 or more on sports within seven days of registration. The bonuses include £30 in Free Bets and £10 in Free Spins, credited within 10 hours of bet settlement, with a 7-day expiry and certain payment restrictions.

The match itself is notable as the first meeting between Luton and Arsenal in any competition since December 1991. Arsenal, despite a winless streak in their last 10 away games against Luton, look strong contenders in this fixture. The team has won six of their last seven games against Premier League newcomers, with their only recent defeat in such a match being a 2-0 loss at Brentford in August 2021. Arsenal’s defence has been particularly impressive, with the most away clean sheets and the fewest goals conceded on the road in the Premier League this season.

: In the run-up to a pivotal UEFA EURO Qualifiers clash Scotland is preparing to welcome Norway to Hampden Park in Glasgow both teams are vying for a spot in the finals, but only one can snag the much-needed points. Scotland, sitting five points clear of Norway in Group A, enters as the narrow favourites, with odds at 11 / 10. They’ve shown strong form in their recent games, only losing to Spain recently, and they triumphed over Norway earlier this year in June. Norway, at 13 / 5 to win, faces a must-win scenario; their hopes hang in the balance, especially after Scotland’s close shave against Georgia. In the June fixture, Scotland’s late comeback victory, featuring goals from Lyndon Dykes and Kenny McLean, showcased their resilience under pressure. Betfred’s offer for this match is tantalising – a £10 bet earns £40 in bonuses, a deal that might soften the blow if the backed team faces defeat. As for betting tips, Erling Haaland, with an impressive scoring record for both Norway and Manchester City, is a solid bet to score first at 7 / 2 odds.

Betfred Norway versus Scotland

With Norway likely to control possession again and Scotland bolstered by home advantage and recent form, including Scott McTominay’s vital contributions, the match promises to be an electrifying encounter. Fans can catch the action on Viaplay Sports1 on November 19th at 7.45 pm. This showdown at Hampden Park is not just a test of skills but also a battle of wills, as both teams seek to carve their path to the Euro Championships.

: In a recent development that’s rippled through the iGaming sector, a series of promotional tweets by the renowned bookmaker Betfred featuring heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua have come under scrutiny by the Advertising Standards Authority. This episode has garnered substantial commentary from various news platforms, with iGaming Business leading the discourse. The controversy revolves around three tweets that have been flagged for breaching the ASA’s newly implemented guidelines. The essence of the infraction lies in the depiction of an individual who, due to their appeal to under-18s, must not be featured in gambling advertising. According to the ASA, Joshua’s significant following among younger audiences makes his appearance in the betting firm’s adverts a contravention of these rules.

The bookmaker responded to the ASA’s censure by highlighting the adult audience target of their campaign, noting that the tweets were published after 9 pm and were in the context of an adult sports event. The company also pointed out the use of age-restriction tools and that Joshua’s following is predominantly over the age of 25. Furthermore, they underlined that the tweets were not intended for an audience that would be underaged. However, the ASA upheld the criticism, concluding that regardless of the intended audience and the contextual safeguards, the presence of Joshua, a figure popular among the youth, could potentially breach the code designed to protect under-18s from being influenced by gambling content. This ruling has sparked a wide array of responses, prompting a dialogue on the balance between celebrity endorsements and responsible advertising. The firm has acknowledged the ASA’s stance, which serves as a compelling reminder for all companies in the sector to navigate the intricate web of marketing regulations with caution and diligence.

: Here’s a major nod to excellence in the Rugby League world! On the 25th of October, the official Rugby League website informed league followers that seven clubs from the Super League have recently been recognised for their outstanding commitment to developing homegrown talent, earning themselves an A-grade status in the process. This accolade is not just a feather in the cap of each of the revered teams, but it also plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of rugby league in the UK. The clubs basking in this recently publicised achievement are Castleford Tigers, Catalans Dragons, Huddersfield Giants, Hull FC, Leeds Rhinos, St Helens, and Warrington Wolves – which should come as no surprise to their followers! Such recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication these clubs have shown in nurturing and developing young talent within their ranks. Being awarded an A-grade status is far from symbolic; it has tangible benefits. Clubs with this grade have a higher salary cap allowance, enabling them to invest more in players and further their ambitions on the pitch.

Betfred Seven A Grade Rugby Clubs

In essence, this grading system is reshaping the dynamics of the league. As teams strive for the A-grade status, they’re indirectly promoting a stronger focus on grassroots development. This approach not only ensures a brighter future for the individual clubs but also fortifies the foundation of the British Rugby League. For the seven clubs that have achieved this milestone, it’s a moment of pride and an opportunity to set the bar even higher for seasons to come.

: Betfred may not have much scope to expand its reach in the UK, but that hasn’t prevented the bookmaker from expanding its retail empire. On October 16th, iGaming business reported that the betting firm has created a new retail betting space in Maryland in partnership with Long Shot’s. Punters are now being welcomed into the off-track betting hub, which can be found in the Capital Region of the US state. Within the brand-new state-of-the-art betting facility, there is an 80-panel TV wall to watch all of the biggest sports fixtures currently on air, and there are 12 self-serve kiosks bettors can use when they are ready to place their bets. For bettors who like to keep their wagering traditional, there is also the option to use a betting counter, which can also be used to withdraw funds from an online Betfred account or to top it up.

This brave new venture follows the owner of the Betfred sister sites gaining a licence which permits them to act as a betting operator in Maryland, which was officially signed off on in February this year. The launch of the retail betting location was in the pipeline with Long Shot’s way before then; the two firms first started plotting the launch in July 2022. Following the legalisation of sports betting in Maryland in December 2021, there has been no shortage of betting firms attempting to get a steady foothold in the market; especially after online betting operators received the green light and were invited to open their platforms to residents of Maryland.

: If you are interested in attending the Betfred Super League Grand Final, which will take place at Old Trafford on Saturday, the 14th of October, and seeing the Wigan Warriors and the Catalan Dragons go head-to-head, you can find all of the ticket and event info via the official Wigan Warriors website. The details have recently been announced after the Wigan Warriors beat Hull in the semi-final with a 42 – 12 victory; the tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. on Sunday the 8th of October, and Warriors fans keen to attend and grab a spot in the West Stand of Old Trafford Stadium have been advised to act fast if they want to see the action unfold in front of their eyes instead of on a screen.

Betfred Super League Grand Final

Warriors fans could either head down to the ticket office at DW Stadium, call the ticket hotline, or purchase the tickets via the Wigan Warriors ticket site. Category 1, 2, and 3 tickets were priced at £85, £65, and £50 for adults, respectively. For anyone on a budget, the category five tickets were priced at £30 for adults, £22.50 for anyone eligible for concession tickets, and £15 for under-16s. As the trains can’t be counted on these days, the Warriors have covered all bases by providing coach travel from Robin Park to Old Trafford, members can grab a seat on the coach for £17.50, for non-members, a return trip will cost £19. Attendees travelling by car have been advised that parking spots are only available on a pre-pay basis.

: After running blog.betfred.com since 2008, Manchester’s biggest homegrown bookmaker has switched up its online presence by launching the brand-new domain insights.betfred.com. The new hub was created with the intention of helping Betfred customers discover original content, learn about promotional offers, sponsorships, services, and products, and find trustworthy and reliable answers to their search queries, but that is far from the only switch up to happen in the Betfred sister sites network this week. The launch of the new domain coincided with the introduction of a brand-new content strategy, which is focused on providing tailored resources and sources of information that embrace a wider range of formats to enhance customer engagement and improve the customer experience. The marketing team, branding department and content creators for the bookmaker have been working together towards the shared objective of exceeding publishing standards which aligns with Betfred’s mission of increasing positive interactions with the brand.

The Customer Management Systems have also been re-implemented to ensure that content is more geo-friendly, which supports the bookmaker’s bold intention of expanding across the US states where online sports betting is legal and regulated and in South Africa. On the new content hub, visitors will find everything from previews of major sporting events and tournaments, online betting tutorials, and advice on how to gamble safely and responsibly. To make the domain a platform which sports fans would like to frequent, a series of high-profile brand ambassadors have already agreed to contribute, including Andy Cole, Louis Saha and Jamie Worsley.

: On September 12th, the Warrington Guardian informed fans of the Warrington Wolves Women’s rugby team of their recent defeat against St Helens during an away Betfred Women’s Super League match. Of course, staunch fans watched the disappointing action unfold before their very eyes on Sunday; the fixture didn’t only mark the loss of a few vital league points, but also the loss of Lee Westwood, who announced that he is stepping down as the head coach of the team. The fans and team are dubbing it as the end of an era, but Lee Westwood won’t be removing himself from the team entirely. Instead, he will be stepping down as a coach to focus on other roles within the club, unlike a few members of the team who used the Super League match to be the final game before their retirements.

Betfred Womens Super League

Three key players, Armani Sharrock, Michelle Davis, and Amy Daniels, have also hung up their boots following the match, making room for fresh talent to join the club, which may help the team to strengthen their line-up for their future matches – surely, there is a reason why they have all decided to walk away from the team, and something evidently had to give after they lost 56 – 6 to St Helens following a massive campaign last year. Their colossal defeat left them 5th on the league table, following the club’s 2022 promotion; 2023 may very well see the club’s demotion, as Charlize Magraw was the only player capable of giving St Helens some tough competition.

: On the 2nd of September, the Yorkshire Post and Yahoo News shared the rather worrying news that a man who attempted to rob a Betfred shop in Harrogate with a scarf around his face is currently on the loose. It seems somewhat surreal to read such a public warning to the residents of the spa town which has become famous in the UK for its artisan and luxury tea brands, but it is a clear sign that austerity is hitting everywhere in the UK. The incident in question took place in the Betfred shop on Kings Road on Friday night at 8:15 p.m.; the armed robber completed his scarfed-up robbery outfit with a black Nike tracksuit and a kitchen knife. He managed to get away with a relatively small sum of cash and he was last seen disappearing into the night down Back Dawson Terrace despite the best efforts of the police, who reportedly attended the scene promptly.

A full investigation is now underway, and police are appealing for witnesses and people who may have information on the perpetrator to come forward. So far, they know that the robber is around 5’ 9”, is in his early 20s, and has brown hair, a local accent and blue or green eyes. The detective sergeant of Harrogate CID, Tom Barker stated the rather obvious when he pointed out that it was frightening to all staff members at the betting shop; he continued the statement by confirming that no one was hurt in the incident, and he didn’t believe any members of the community are at risk.

: It has long been a source of contention among sports bettors in the UK that every time a new season starts or an important league fixture crops up, sportsbooks decide to only roll out the free bets for new customers and forget to reward loyalty. Knowing that the majority of their target audience has already registered with them, Betfred decided to dish out free bets to all their members, old and new. On the 18th of July, talkSPORT published an article that detailed how football fans interested in raking in some free bets to spend on hot Premier League fixtures can go about it. To qualify, all you need to do is wager £10 on in-play Premier League odds; once your qualifying bet has settled, you will receive a £5 free bet token.

Betfred Free Bet Club

For this free bet giveaway, your £10 in-play bet had to be on a Premier League game taking place on Saturday, the 19th of August, and the in-play bet must be offered at odds of 1 / 1 or higher. Free bet tokens are exclusively reserved for the action the following Sunday, which is good news for Premier League followers who were looking to bet on the Aston Villa vs. Everton match at Villa Park at 2 p.m. or the Westham vs. Chelsea match at London Stadium, which will kick off at 4:30 p.m. You will only have one day to use your bets and rest assured the Betfred sister sites have their fair share of generous odds.

: If you fancy getting £40 in free bets just in time for the Championships play-off between Middlesborough and Millwall on the 5th of August, Betfred is your best bet and can facilitate some of your best bets throughout the tournament where teams will battle it out for a position in the Premier League. On the 3rd of August, talkSPORT informed its readership of the best free bet offers and provided a few betting predictions and tips. At the time of writing, Betfred is inviting new members to deposit and wager £10 to receive £40 in bonuses if the first deposit is made via an eligible banking method within seven days of creating a new account and is accompanied by the promo code WELCOME40. The £40 bonus comprises £30 in free bets and 50 x 20p free spins, which will hit your account within 10 hours of the qualifying bet settling.

If you are already a Betfred member, not all is lost, as the sportsbook is also running some highly attractive odds. The 3 / 1 odds on both teams to score during their first match is one of the most alluring wagering offers. It may seem like a very safe bet and not one that will yield a high return, but there is a reason why talkSPORT recommended the odds, and that mostly boiled down to the unpredictability of the first match played by Millwall and Middlesborough, respectively. If you’re feeling a little more daring, you can wager on a half or full-time draw at 18 / 5 odds.

: On the 24th of July, the darts news website PDC TV announced that Betfred has donated £30,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support following their annual charity event which took place in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens earlier in the month. Every year, during the Men’s and Women’s World Matchplay tournaments, which the sportsbook is now a proud title sponsor of the UK bookmaker finds an inventive way to raise some vital funds for a deserving UK charity. This year, the betting firm decided to pledge £50 for every 180 hit. Additionally, £1 per point was donated as celebrities and punters participated in a nine-dart charity challenge. During the Men’s tournament a total of 180 hits were scored, and 9 in the Women’s tournament. The reigning champion, Nathan Aspinall, contributed his fair share to the total; by the end of the action, he scored a total of 44 180 hits.

Betfred Macmillan Cancer Support

Once the action was over, Betfred decided to round up its pledges to the £30k sum. The Betfred boss, Fred Done, said that sponsoring charity fundraisers such as these is always a highlight for the betting firm. He also took the time to congratulate and thank the players for the entertainment they provided and the proceeds they raised for charity. The Stockport-hailing champion of the tournament, Nathan Aspinall, called it an honour to have been involved with the fundraising action. In previous years, the bookmaker has raised funds for The Stroke Association and Parkinson’s UK since it became the title sponsor of World Matchplay.

: Every sports news outlet worth its salt is talking about the Betfred World Matchplay 2023 Draw this week, including the website Live Darts, which published a feature on the tournament on the fourth of July. The event is one of the hottest in the UK darts calendar, and with the biggest names in the sport all convening for the event, there is little room to wonder why the commencement of the championship has stirred up so much hype. During the 2023 Draw, Michael van Gerwen will defend his title against the other darts heavyweight, Brendan Dolan. All of the action will happen in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens from the 15th of July to the 23rd of July. In the 30th edition of the tournament, the prize purse is bigger than ever, with £800,000 in total. 32 players will battle it out for a slice of it, and sportsbooks, such as the Betfred sister sites, are already clearly marking their outright favourites for the competition.

Other darts champions that will be in attendance include the 2018 champion, Gary Anderson, who will be going up against Dave Chisnall, who won’t be an easy opponent to beat with his track record, which includes being a five-time quarter-finalist in the Matchplay Draw. Plenty of darts fans are also stoked to see the return of the darts veteran Steve Beaten, who has played more Matchplay Draws than any other darts champion. When he enters Winter Gardens this year, it will be his 22nd World Matchplay tournament. Although, his veteran status hasn’t been enough to see him favourable with the bookies and pundits.

: On the 19th of June, talkSPORT let its readers know how important this year’s Royal Ascot is to the world-renowned jockey, Frankie Dettori, who is famous enough to have several online slot games that pay ode to his legacy and to be one of the only household names in horse racing. As Tom Lunn wrote ahead of the annual racing tournament, this event may be the last for the iconic jockey, and the Betfred sister sites have taken the opportunity to prepare an extra-special Pick Your Punt bet, which gives 11 / 4 odds on Dettori riding five or more winners during the five-day event. Pundits are even going as far as saying it doesn’t matter which horse Dettori rides, or the value of the odds on him, it is likely that Royal Ascot bettors will be throwing all their cash down the legendary rider. The 52-year-old jockey has a busy week ahead of him, with six rides on Tuesday when the racing festival kicks off, at least two races on Wednesday, and four on each of the three last days of the festival.

Betfred Frankie Dettori

Given Dettori’s track record for wins and the sheer number of races he is participating in, it would appear that the special bet from the Betfred sister sites, created in collaboration with talkSPORT Edge has a great chance of paying out. For bettors new to Betfred, there are naturally free bet offers up for grabs, which can be used on any of the pre-race odds for Royal Ascot.

: This week, the official Rugby League website amped the hype around the Betfred Wheelchair Super League, which will take place in Newcastle on Saturday, the 10th of June. The ‘Magic Weekend’ event will feature Central Inclusion Rounds, which are new feats of the Physical and Learning Disability Leagues, following on from the success of the last World Cup, which was hosted last autumn. The first Wheelchair Super League was hosted in Birmingham and was a resounding success; the six-hour extravaganza went down a storm with fans and players alike as they celebrated the fresh inclusivity within the sport. This time, it is the turn of one of the strongest Rugby League student teams to host the event in Northumbria.

The hotly anticipated event will see six teams go head to head, including the reigning champions, the Halifax Panthers, who will be going up against Hull; it won’t be an easy match, but plenty of people are putting their money on the Panthers staying true to their name and being tough competition against Hull’s stellar line-up. After a defeat against the London Roosters, the event on June 10 is the perfect opportunity to prove they will have what it takes to lift the trophy at the end of the Magic Weekend. The general manager of the league, Martin Coyd OBE, is naturally full of enthusiasm in the run-up to the event. In a press release, he thanked Betfred for sponsoring the event and stated he looked forward to seeing what Newcastle had to offer.

: On the 29th of May, Birmingham Live let its readers know how they could be a part of the hotly-anticipated Betfred British Masters this summer. The event, which will start on the 28th of June and wrap up on the 2nd of July, will see the globe’s greatest golfers convene at the prestigious event. Two of the hottest names on the line-up include the reigning champion, Thorbjorn Oleson, along with the former world #1 and major winner, Justin Rose. The two icons of the golfing world will be going up against other talented golfers, including Ewen Ferguson, Robert MacIntyre, and Victor Perez; more names are to be announced as the major fixture on the golfing calendar grows closer. Tickets to the event are still available for purchase, and with the low starting point of £20, there is no reason why golf fans need to miss out on the 2023 installation of the British Masters, which is often a sell-out event.

Betfred British Masters

Sir Nick Faldo, who rose to golfing fame as the six-time major champion will be hosting the event, which is set to take place at The Belfry, which will remain the venue until 2026. It is worth the entry price for the charismatic presence of Faldo alone. He is one of the few golfing champions to receive a knighthood for his service to the sport. He was bestowed with the title in 2007 after he won the Open Championships three times and lifted the trophy as the Masters Tournament winner three times.

: If you want weekend tickets to the Betfred Championship Summer Bash but don’t want to stump up the cash, The York Press has revealed how rugby fans can win tickets to the event that will take over the LNEB Community Stadium in York on Saturday the 27th of May and Sunday the 28th of May. Three pairs of full weekend tickets are being given away, but not all is lost if you miss out on the chance, as day tickets are available for as little as £20 for adults and £10 for under 16s. During the weekend, the stadium will host eight matches between Rugby League teams, in addition to seven matches between Championship teams. One of the most anticipated matches is the Featherstone Rovers against the York Knights on their home turf. Women’s Super League fans also have plenty to look forward to as the York Valkyries will see what the Warrington Wolves are made of.

To enter the exclusive competition, subscribe to The York Press and answer the question, which stadium will the Summer Bash take place in – we’ve already given you the answer! To be in with a chance of winning, your entries must be submitted before midnight on the 23rd of May. The lucky winners will be announced on the 24th of May to give you plenty of time to purchase an advance ticket if you’re not a winner this time around. Only winners will be notified by the contact details you provide with the local newspaper, which will also provide in-depth coverage of the event over the weekend.

: To direct anyone looking to wager on the outcome of Eurovision to the most lucrative betting site, just ahead of the action that unfolded in Liverpool on Saturday night the Telegraph informed its readers that the Betfred sportsbook is giving away £40 in betting tokens and free spins, which could be used on any of the Eurovision odds. The Telegraph dubbed Eurovision as one of the biggest cultural events in the calendar; judging by the hype that amassed around it on the streets and on social media platforms, we can’t fault the Telegraph journalists for making that assessment!

Betfred Eurovision

The £40 bonus was available to all UK and Republic of Ireland residents who have never previously had an account with Betfred and registered a brand-new account with the promo code WELCOME40. Once the registration process was complete, a £10 deposit and wager on a sports betting market was required within seven days of completing the account, which is quite a weak caveat for any new members that created an account to wager on the Eurovision outcomes! Nevertheless, within 10 hours of the qualifying bet settlement, the £30 in free bet tokens would be issued in addition to 50 x 20p free spins on a game of Betfred’s choosing. The terms and conditions dictate that no none of the free bet stakes can be returned and both the free spins and free bet tokens come with a seven-day expiry notice. Furthermore, new members may need ID or SMS verification to fully complete and register their accounts.

: As advertised by talkSPORT, in the run-up to the match between Everton and Newcastle, Betfred is allowing all its new online customers to deposit and wager £10 to receive up to £40 in bonuses. During the match that is set to take place on Thursday night, Newcastle will continue their mission of fighting for the Champion League title in Goodison Park. To take advantage of the time-limited promotion, when making your first deposit and qualifying bet, you must use the promo code WELCOME40. The qualifying bet can be settled on any betting market available via the Betfred sportsbook, the only conditions are that your first bet must be on odds of evens or higher and placed within seven days of creating a new account with the betting firm. In return, you will receive £30 in free bet tokens plus £10 in free spins, which will be allocated as 50 x 20p free spins on a selected slot game. The free bets and spins will be credited within 10 hours of your qualifying bet settling, and both come with a seven-day expiry.

Some payment restrictions apply, and you may need to provide some form of ID to fully verify your account. In all instances, you will need to verify your mobile phone number via an SMS code. Even though the promo was advertised as being for the match against Everton and Newcastle, in reality, you can use your free bets on any of the betting markets available at Betfred – talkSPORT just loves to insinuate that these promos are exclusive to certain matches!

: Horse racing history was made this week after the Epsom Derby named the online bookmaker Betfred as its official sponsor. The sportsbook became the first gambling firm to sponsor the derby, which is dubbed the most historic classic. This new sponsorship deal comes after Jockey Club Racecourse signed a three-year contract with one of the UK’s biggest retail and online bookmakers. Even with the spates of closures, Betfred still has over 1,400 betting shops in the UK; it is also one of the busiest online gambling companies in the UK. The Jockey Club Racecourse had been searching for a new official sponsor since the previous sponsorship deal concluded with the used car sales website, Cazoo, which expired in August 2022 after a two-year run.

Betfred Epson Derby

Strangely, according to the Guardian, JCR always preferred non-gambling companies when searching for a sponsor, but it seems that they relented when they run out of other high-profile blue chip options. The Betfred sister sites don’t seem to mind though. The sportsbook proudly announced itself as a new sponsor on Twitter, and the announcement seemed to go down well. This year’s Derby marks the 244th anniversary of the event, which was first staged in 1780; to reflect how important it still is to the UK horse racing community, this year, the prizes for the victors are bigger than ever. There is £1.5 million in the prize fund for the jockeys to compete for. The managing director for JCR is optimistic that their new sponsor will help them to promote the event up and down the country.

: Betfred made its sportsbook irresistible for residents of Ohio this week by launching a brand-new promo code, which was subsequently distributed by the website Bookies.com on April 4. It hasn’t been long since the online and retail bookmaker made its Ohio, and it is pulling out all the stops to beat the competition. With the promo code, new customers can claim up to £111 in bonus bets, but the generosity doesn’t end there. Following that, for the first five weeks as Betfred member, the sportsbook will allow you to rake back 50% of your weekly net losses, up to a maximum of £200 each week. Obviously, that will require some sizeable bets and some sizeable losses, but if you are a big sportsbook spender and you would appreciate the peace of mind knowing that your losses will be compensated, it is a great promotion, which will undoubtedly see you become loyal to the platform.

For the £111 in Fred Bets, this will come in three installations of £37 once you have created a new account and wagered at least £50. Unlike a lot of sportsbook promotions, there are no minimum odds conditions attached to this offer, but you will only get seven days to use your free Fred Bets from the date of issue. The range of betting markets is another reason to nestle up with this sportsbook; it has great coverage of MLB baseball, NBA basketball, boxing, and NFL football, although it has to be said that other Ohio sportsbooks have a slightly better betting variety.

: The Rugby League website was proud to announce that the Betfred Women’s Super League is finally returning on Saturday, the 9th of April. While written content was a little thin on the ground around the return of the league, the post shared a snazzy, high-energy promo video, which will undoubtedly add to the anticipation around the comeback of the women’s rugby team, which is currently sporting Home Bargains as a front of shirt sponsor. The video relays some of the action from the last installation of the league, which saw Zoe Hornby taking the field by storm as she went for body-bruising gold. All of the games will be streamed live on Sky Sports, and the first match between The Leeds Rhinos and the York Valkyries will take place on April 9 at 3:30 PM.

Over in the states, Action Network has shared an irresistible Betfred bonus. When registering your details with the bonus code ACTION, you can unlock up to £1,111 in Fred Bets. Currently, this offer, which comes with a 9.1 / 10 rating from Action Network, is only available to players in Virginia, Ohio, Arizona, Iowa, and Colorado. After outlining the eligibility criteria for the welcome offer, Action Network ran through some of the pros and cons of the sportsbook. Its biggest flaws included the limited customer support, the general bugs that lead to the site crashing, and the design, which was described as sub-par. On the plus side, the app is intuitive, there is excellent bet market variety, and there is no shortage of Parlay+ options.

: On March 20th, Gaming Intelligence helped to spread the good news of the extended partnership deal between Betfred and Playtech. Playtech, which is one of the biggest London-listed technology providers, has chosen to give the Betfred betting shops even more exclusive access to its betting terminals. The Self-Service Betting Terminals will allow bettors to place wagers on horse racing and greyhound racing for the very first time, and although the terminals may be slightly more limited in their wagering capacities to placing a wager at the counter, it is a mark of Playtech’s innovative ingenuity that the company has equipped the terminals with player props products and the latest in bet-builder technology.

The multi-year contract extension rests on a long-standing partnership between the two industry-leading entities, who first signed a partnership agreement over a decade ago. The COO at Playtech, Shimon Akad, gave a press release after the partnership contract was signed, sealed, and delivered, stating that the betting shop is one of the most respected and established names in the gambling industry, and from the first partnership contract, the online and retail bookmaker has only gone from strength to strength. Akad described the betting terminals that are packed with exciting features and tools are one of the key pillars of their work together and teased that there are even more tech evolutions in the pipeline, which will bring the digitalisation of sports betting into retail spaces to meet the changing customer expectations. With the decline in in-shop betting and the rise of online and mobile betting, it is a clever move on behalf of the betting shop and developer.

: Betfred is just one of the UK bookmakers pulling out all of the stops to attract sports bettors in the run-up to the 2023 Cheltenham Festival, which will take place on March 14th. This week, talkSPORT shared one of the sportsbook’s unique offers, which is giving away £100k in cash to the sports bettor that receives the greatest returns from any of the eligible Cheltenham horse racing betting markets. Initially, the sportsbook is giving away a £1 free bet; whoever gains the greatest returns from that £1 free bet will receive £100,000 in cash, on top of what they have gained off the back of their winning wager! However, this is far from the only offer on the table from the Betfred sister sites; there are also trebles, accumulators, and other multi-bet boosted odds to wager on.

Betfred Cheltenham Festival

For any bettors that are brand-new to Betfred, sports bettors in the UK and Ireland can take advantage of the welcome package, which unlocks with a £10 deposit and qualifying wager. In return, new players will receive a £40 bonus. This promotion is only available when registration is completed with the bonus code WELCOME40. The first qualifying bet must be placed within seven days of completing the registration process. In addition to £30 in free bets, new players at Betfred will also receive 50x 20p free spins on selected online slot games, which will be accredited within 10 hours of settling the qualifying bet. All bonuses come with a seven-day expiry, and wagering requirements apply.

: If, when Fulham squares off against Leeds FC, you want some bonus cash in the bank with a high-profile online sportsbook that you haven’t got into metaphorical bed with yet, Betfred has an irresistible offer. As advertised by talkSPORT on the 27th of February. Before the 5th round of the FA cup, sports bettors were invited to bet £10 and get £40 – which is much more than what most Betfred sister sites are offering at this stage in the tournament, which just so happens to be the oldest running cup competition! Ahead of the match, the two teams were spotted at opposite ends of the league table. Yet, pundits are still saying that victory could swing in favour of either of the teams as they battle it out for glory and more importantly, a few crucial points that could seal their position in the quarter-finals.

After Leeds FC brought on board their new manager, Javi Gracia, the odds are quite literally more in the Yorkshire side’s favour! Seemingly giving the ex-manager, Jesse Marsch, the marching orders was the right move, although it may take a lot more than swapping out the team manager for Leeds FC to defeat Fulham on the field. Back to the free bonus cash from Betfred, it is only available to new UK players only and the promo code WELCOME40 must be used during registration After settling a qualifying bet of £10 or more within seven days of creating an account, the bonuses will appear within 10 hours.

Betfred Review 2024

Betfred sister sites homepage

Fred Done opened his first “Bet Fred” store in Salford, close to Manchester, in 1967. He probably didn’t envision it becoming a nationwide chain of betting stores back then, let alone an internet phenomenon. Betfred has become one of the biggest sports betting companies in the UK, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Ladbrokes, Coral, and Sky Bet at the top of the food chain. How does it compare to the other big names, though, and is it more deserving of your money than its biggest rivals? That’s for you to decide, but we’ll provide this review to help you make your mind up.

Betfred Welcome Offer

The array of promotions at Betfred is almost overwhelming, but only one of what feels like a whole digital wall of incentives is there specifically for new players. It’s an offer of £30’s worth of free bets in return for a deposit and spend of £10 from new account holders. The qualifying bet must be placed within seven days of a new player opening an account, and the odds of the bet being successful have to be evens or above. The £10 must be spent as a single bet. Once the qualifying bet is settled, the £30 in bonus bets should be credited to the player’s account within ten hours. There are no wagering restrictions attached to the free bets, but they have to be used within seven days of being allocated. They’ll be deemed forfeit and removed from the account if they’re not.

Other welcome promotions exist, but they’re aimed at Betfred Casino players. We treat Betfred Casino as a separate entity, so if you want to find out more about what’s on offer to Betfred Casino players, visit our dedicated review page by using the links above.

Monthly Promotions

The promotions page at Betfred feels like it scrolls down forever. Some of the promotions on it are intended for Betfred Casino or Betfred Bingo players rather than sports bettors, but there are still plenty of incentives on offer if sports bets are what brought you to the site. However, very few of them could be called “ongoing.” Betfred prefers to offer short-term or event-specific promotions based around a certain football match, a certain horse racing meet and so on. That being said, there is a way to get rewarded every time you make a sporting bet at Betfred.

About halfway down the promotions page, you’ll find a link to a promotion entitled “Collect points for every bet you place.” The offer is presented in partnership with Rewards4Racing and offers Betfred players one point for every £1 they spend betting on sports. The accrued points are stored up and can eventually be cashed in and exchanged for real-life race day tickets. That may not be of much interest if you’re not into horse racing, but it’s a great perk for those who are.

While the remainder of the promotions are so fleeting that they’re likely to be gone from the site by the time you read this review, the “build your own bet” feature is worthy of note. If you want to place a bet on a specific event or outcome and Betfred doesn’t already offer the precise bet you’re thinking of, you may be able to build it yourself and get Betfred to offer you a price. They can’t promise that they’ll take every suggestion that’s made to them, but they’re as accommodating as they can be.

Pros and Cons – What Are The Benefits Of Playing At Betfred?

If you like getting a little something extra when you’re betting on sports, you’re in good hands with Betfred. They have promotions for almost any occasion, and their sportsbook is as all-encompassing as anything you’re likely to find elsewhere. The other big point that goes in Betfred’s favour is the depth of its customer support options. While it should be a given that any big casino site offers telephone, live chat, and email support, very few of them do. Betfred does, and that makes it stand out.

The factors we’ve listed above are the benefits of playing at Betfred, but here’s the story on the other side of the fence. There are drawbacks at Betfred, and the biggest is that despite having all those customer support options, the site still manages to attract a surprising number of negative reviews on Trustpilot. From bonuses not being credited to delays with withdrawal processing times, they sometimes have an unhappy player base. Having a fine on your record from the UKGC is never a good look, either.

Featured Slots and Casino Games at Betfred

It wouldn’t be fair to rate Betfred on casino games, online slots, or anything other than sports betting. That’s really not what the casino is about. Betfred Casino and Betfred Bingo exist for a reason, and the reason is that the “main” Betfred site focuses on sports betting and nothing else. Leaving slots and casino games aside, let’s talk about the quality of the Betfred sportsbook.

Betfred didn’t get where it is today without offering odds on almost every type of sporting content in the world. The full A-Z list of sports available for betting at the site is comprehensive, including UFC, MMA, hurling, Gaelic football, Australian rules football, and other sports that you wouldn’t necessarily find offered to you at smaller sports betting sites. Any major current sporting event gets a dedicated section at Betfred, too – there was a section for the Cheltenham Festival at the time of our visit, and also the Turkish Masters’ snooker tournament, the Players Championship in golf, and a general “winter sports” area. Many of the promotions offered by Betfred can be redeemed on any of these sports, so spicing your bet up is easy.

If there are no real horses running anywhere, you can pass the time at Betfred by betting on virtual horses instead. On top of that, there’s a “49s” game that’s the National Lottery in everything other than the name. The prizes are nowhere near as high as they are in the National Lottery, but the draw works the same way, and there’s still big money to be won.

Betfred Shop

Deposits and Withdrawal Methods

Betfred makes itself available to almost every legally permissible method of carrying out transactions with casino websites in the UK. Debit cards are as acceptable here as they are everywhere else, but Betfred also makes space for e-wallets. PayPal, Skrill, and Neteller are all welcome. If you like to use Paysafe cards, you can use those here too. You could even pop into a Betfred shop and either deposit cash into or withdraw cash out of your Betfred online account any time you wish. If you intend to withdraw more than £250, though, you need to give the shop 48 hours’ notice.

If going to a Betfred shop isn’t convenient for you, you’ll want to know the quickest route to receiving money back into your account. Debit cards aren’t the fastest way as they take between 3-5 days. Bank transfers might be even slower, but you most likely wouldn’t want to go down that route anyway because there are fees attached. The surprise is that e-wallet withdrawals might still take up to 48 hours to process. There are plenty of big-name casino websites out there that process e-wallet withdrawals instantly these days, and Betfred would be well-advised to join them if it doesn’t want to fall behind the times.

Customer Support and License

Betfred is licensed in the UK by the UK Gambling Commission (39544) and outside the UK by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner (RGL 036 & 038). Customer service is easy to obtain thanks to the provision of a telephone number, a live chat service, and email addresses. Customer feedback indicates that there are sometimes long waits for a customer service agent to become available, but that’s to be expected with a betting site of this size.

Betfred – The Verdict

Everything about Betfred suggests that it should be a first-class sports betting website, so it’s surprising to us to see it come in for so many bad reviews on Trustpilot. We have no reason to doubt what players are saying, though, so there has to be a disconnect at Betfred somewhere. Withdrawal times are at least partially to blame because they’re not as fast as they could be, but the website itself might be an issue. It feels old, and it’s not as quick or efficient as the sites of some of its biggest rivals. That being said, Betfred still offers a massive, detailed sportsbook and a bevvy of great promotions to go with it. It’s up there with the best of its genre.

  • 30-Aug-2023 by Paul
Betfred sucks. The website is just there to take your money, not to give you a chance at winning. I’ve played through £10,000 with no winnings. Bet365 is far better. – source: TrustPilot

  • 29-Aug-2023 by Benedict:
Betfred’s app is the worst that I’ve used. I’ve tried pretty much every top betting app you could name, and this one easily ranks last. It doesn’t give out daily bonuses, the payouts on the casino games are ridiculously low, and the app is clunky and difficult to navigate. I’m only giving it one star because Trustpilot won’t let me go any lower. – source: TrustPilot

I find the Betfred website too complicated to use, and it updates horse racing results too slowly. I want my account closing down. – source: TrustPilot

Betfred Marketing

Most of the top-class casinos these days have realised that proper marketing and televised advertisements play a major role in helping a casino solidify its status with players both new and old. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why Betfred is so active when it comes to things like commercials and social media. Currently, the casino has active pages on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube along with a WhatsApp contact number. All these help the casino reach more players and a wider range of audiences.

Like many of the sports-focused betting and casino websites, Betfred maintains a blog. It hosts news from all the major sports events or activities happening in the sports world. Of course, the blog section is also used to promote certain events that are happening at the casino itself, like various races that Betfred is known to sponsor in areas like the UK and Ireland. There’s a “Fred Says” section here where Fred Done, the founder of Betfred, gives news about all the important and major events that are happening to give players a certain foresight into what kind of a bet they should place.

Apart from the usual news that is presented here, there are podcasts hosted by Betfred. These podcasts discuss major topics in the sporting community, so sports lovers that don’t want to read all the articles can listen to the discussion instead.

Betfred TV Adverts

Betfred has been advertised on television for years and has released a number of memorable adverts. Even with the adverts gone from television, many of them are still available on the official Betfred YouTube channel. That isn’t the only thing the YouTube channel is used for, though. It also features some exclusive content, including interviews with sportspeople and, occasionally, detailed information about new features and promotions across the Betfred sister sites. If you pay attention to casino commercials, you might remember seeing a few of these adverts either late at night or on sports channels.

2016 – Betfred With Fred

BetFred Third AD

The “Betfred with Fred” commercial is a strange one. It’s hosted by Fred Done himself and serves almost as an introduction to the Betfred brand. It was 2016 when this commercial aired for the first time, so the Betfred brand was already more than fifty years old. Trying to present something more than half a century old as something new and exciting is a difficult sell, but perhaps Betfred thought it was a necessary step towards trying to attract younger players who didn’t grow up with the company. Fred talks viewers through the latest bonuses and welcome promotions at his website and also reiterates that he’s been in the business for several decades and knows what he’s talking about.

2021 – Bet £5 Get £15

BetFred First Ad

Earlier on, while we were discussing the featured games at Betfred, we mentioned that there’s now a “lotto” section of the site which functions a little like the UK National Lottery. The addition of the lotto game was a big deal for Betfred – so much so that they made this short commercial and aired it on British television. Players were invited to spend £5 on lottery games and get a further £15 in free bets, subject to the usual terms and conditions. This advert was done on the cheap, with no appearances from actors and no real-world footage. The whole commercial is animated and features a “round the world” theme to fit in with the idea that the lottery is a global game.

2021 – Pick 3 Match 3

BetFred Second a

The “we have the lotto now” ad isn’t the only one that Betfred launched onto the airwaves in the UK during 2021. They also came up with this “Pick 3 Match 3” advert which, at the time of writing at least, is still on rotation. You could look at this commercial as a follow-up advert to the previous one, as it’s also about the lottery game. Matching all six numbers on a lottery game is hard, so this new version asks players to pick just three numbers at £1 a time and win £700 if your predictions are correct. The approach taken with this advert is similar to the approach taken with the last one in that no human beings appear in it, and computer animators have done all the heavy lifting in putting the commercial together.

BetFred Launches in the States

BetFredUS

There has never been a better time to be involved in sports betting in the United States of America than right now. In 2018, the US Supreme Court voted to make sports betting legal in the country for the first time. Since then, sports betting has become a craze that’s swept the nation one state at a time. Everybody wants to get involved, but the best-placed companies to do so are those that have had decades of experience in providing sports betting in the UK. Betfred officially landed in the USA during the second half of 2020, with gamblers in Iowa and Colorado the first to be eligible to sign up with the brand. The potential for making money in the USA is massive for betting companies, so if Betfred is able to make a success of itself over there, it’s likely to funnel some of that money back into the UK and become an even bigger deal at home, too. In gambling parlance, that’s a classic win-win.
