Spin Shake

Spin Shake

If, for any reason, you wanted to get an idea of what a bang average member of the Neptune Play sister sites family looked like, SpinShake is the one that you’d go for. There are plenty of reasons for that, but the first is that this is what the AG Communications Limited casino design template looks like in its most basic form. The only categories here are slots and live casino games – the operator’s sportsbook hasn’t been included. There’s no fancy landing page and no flashy promotions; just a bare-bones template and a basic sign-up offer. These factors ought to make SpinShake Casino unpopular, but there are plenty of players out there who appreciate a casino that knows how to keep things simple. We don’t mind SpinShake either, but we think more could have been done with what was presumably supposed to be a milkshake theme.

Generation VIP

Generation VIP

It’s generally considered bad advice to include terms like “VIP” in the name of your online casino site unless you can back the name up with a truly five-star casino experience. That’s not an easily done thing in the iGaming world, and Generation VIP doesn’t meet the mark. Because of this, it comes across as a more disappointing casino than most of the other Neptune Play sister sites, even though it’s on par with most of them in terms of content. In fact, other than the logo and the welcome promotion, you’d be hard-pressed to spot any important differences between Generation VIP and SpinShake. That doesn’t mean the welcome promotion at Generation VIP is anything to get excited about, though – it’s only worth £77 even if you take full advantage of it by maxing out your first deposit. £77 doesn’t exactly scream “VIP bonus.”

Greenplay

Greenplay

We’ve seen a couple of deeply average casinos in our tour of the Neptune Play sister sites thus far, so is GreenPlay the one that’s going to stand up and take us to the next level? We won’t keep you in suspense – the answer is “no.” GreenPlay Casino launched in 2019, but you’d have it pegged as a far older site based on its design. While it might look markedly different from the likes of SpinShake at first glance, a second glance will confirm that it only looks different because the background colour has been changed from black to green. The casino’s cute robot character adds a pinch of charm, but any positive effect from that is quickly nullified when you spot that the welcome bonus at GreenPlay Casino is worth a miserable £25 at best. There are casinos on this network that can offer ten times that amount to new players.

Spin Rio

Spin Rio

Our wait for a top-quality AG Communications Limited casino is over. In Spin Rio we have one of the very best of the Neptune Play sister sites – a casino that’s respected in regulated territories all over the world for its quality. You can tell that Spin Rio is a cut above the average just by looking at its homepage – when’s the last time you saw such a beautiful view of Rio de Janeiro? More to the point, when was the last time you saw such a beautiful toucan? There’s more to Spin Rio than its tropical theme and the fact that it looks fantastic, though – this casino offers up to £200 as a welcome bonus, which is as good a deal as you’ll find anywhere on this network. Customer support could be stronger, but we could say the same of any of the Neptune Play sister sites.

Play Frank

Play Frank

The best of the casinos that AG Communications Limited has on its roster are those that deviate from the operator’s standard template to offer us something that looks and feels different. Play Frank might not be as spectacular as Spin Rio in that regard, but it still meets both the definition and the mark. We’re not sure who Frank is, but he’s provided us with a bright and colourful casino. It’s actually so colourful that he can’t help but wonder whether he’s the same Frank who runs the “Talk to Frank” drug information service. The minimalist, modern style of Play Frank Casino sets it apart from most of the other Neptune Play sister sites and has the added bonus of making the casino a lot easier to navigate, too. Its daily challenges give it an edge over most of its siblings when it comes to bonuses.

Neptune Play Review 2024

Neptune Play has gone through a few changes over the years, and its current form is the least interesting it’s ever had. It used to be one of only two casinos that AG Communications Limited owned and operated directly rather than farming out on a white-label basis, with the other being Jambo Casino. That site is now closed, and Neptune Play is now white-label. When it became white-label, it lost most of the trappings of its former undersea theme and character. Were it not for the name, you’d no longer know that there were supposed to be any connections to the legend of Neptune at all. Despite all of this, it seems that the casino is more popular than it’s ever been. Let’s see if we can work out why.

Neptune Play sister sites homepage

Neptune Play Welcome Bonuses

Given how basic Neptune Play looks, you wouldn’t necessarily expect it to have welcome bonuses. It does, though – it actually has two. The first is for players who want to avail themselves of the site’s many casino games, and takes the form of a 100% matched first deposit worth up to £100. That’s the most common welcome bonus you’ll find across the UK online casino scene, but Neptune Play’s version of it is a smidge below average on account of imposing wagering requirements of x40. The UK average is x35, so you’ll have to work harder to turn the bonus into real cash.

If you’re a sports bettor and you have no intention of playing casino games at Neptune Play, you could instead take the sports-focused welcome bonus. It’s aimed – and we’re quoting the site directly here – at “new costomers only.” It never bodes well for a casino’s quality when the people who write the copy can’t even be bothered to proofread or make corrections later. In any event, the offer is a £10 free bet plus ten bonus spins when you deposit and then wager £10 on any sports event with odds of 1/1 or greater.

Ongoing Bonuses

You won’t find a VIP reward or loyalty scheme here – they tend not to exist on the AG Communications Limited platform. In place of any such scheme is a series of smaller bonuses intended to keep players coming back for more. Ten per cent cashback on losses is available on live casino games across the weekend, for example, which takes a little bit of the sting out of your bad luck. If you deposit £20 or more on a Tuesday, you’ll receive thirty free spins on NetEnt’s Starburst with a wagering requirement of x35 applicable to winnings. They’re small perks, but they’re nice to have. You can also get free spins every day so long as you take part in the “Spin Frenzy Challenges,” but you’ll find that the challenges generally involve little more than spending £100 on slots to get fifty free spins in return.

What are the Pros and Cons of Neptune Play?

Pros: Neptune Play might not look like the world’s most interesting casino, but it has over two thousand slots to play with, and also offers sports betting. Withdrawals are likely to be instant so long as you’ve taken the time to verify your account, and there are regular deposit bonuses available so long as you’re spending enough to qualify for them.

Cons: Customer service. The only way to get it here is to fill in a contact form, which is archaic by modern standards. Aside from that, the casino’s plain theme is a disappointment. We remember the old Neptune Play, which played into the theme and had a cast of colourful undersea characters. It looks like a lesser casino now the theme is gone. We’re not sure who thought the change was a smart one to make, but they were wrong.

Featured Slots and Casino Games

Sports betting hasn’t always been available at Neptune Play, so we’ll point out that it is now, and you’re free to engage with it if you wish. It’s the exact same sportsbook you’ll see at a dozen or more of the Neptune Play sister sites, but it offers impressive coverage. For the main part, though, Neptune Play focuses on its expanded portfolio of slots and it’s impressive selection of game shows and live dealer games. Again, you’ll find these same games at other sites on the same network – there are no exclusive titles here – but that doesn’t make the collection any less impressive.

The top slots at Neptune Play are, with very few exceptions, the same as the top slots you’ll see at any leading online casino with an eye on the tastes of players in the UK. That means Big Bass Bonanza is in a prominent position, as is Book of Dead, Fluffy Favourites, and Gold Blitz: Extreme. These are all top titles, but we suspect that almost all of you have seen and played them dozens of times by now. Alternative options include King Kong Cash: Even Bigger Bananas (there’s a lot that doesn’t take itself seriously), Immortal Romance II (yet to catch on in the way that the original did), and Crazy Time, which is the only live game show that gets any of the spotlight on the casino’s homepage.

Withdrawal Processing and Speed

Nearly all of the AG Communications Limited casinos publish the same guidance on the withdrawal process, and we’re just as frustrated with it every time we see it because it’s so imprecise. It looks like instant withdrawals are possible with almost any method you might want to try, but the casino can never guarantee them. Instead, it sits on the fence by saying that the process could also take several days. Debit card withdrawals, as a prime example, are given a timescale of between zero and six business days, which is useless in terms of setting expectations.

Things are a little bit better if you’re using an e-wallet (MuchBetter/Neteller/Skrill/PayPal), as you shouldn’t wait any more than two days. If you’re using an instant banking service like Trustly, your wait will be between zero and four days. The same timescale – or lack of – applies to AstroPay, ecoPayz, and Rapid Transfer. The only method that can never result in an instant withdrawal is Interac, which will take at least two days and could take up to six.

Customer Support and License

Customer support at Neptune Play is, to be frank, rubbish. The only way to get it is to fill in the casino’s contact form and then hope there’s someone waiting to reply to you within a reasonable amount of time. There’s no telephone support or live chat. Given that every casino ought to be able to provide live assistance these days, Neptune Play is badly behind the times.

The casino is listed on the UK Gambling Commission licence that AG Communications Limited holds under account number 39483. It’s the same licence that covers all the Neptune Play sister sites, but it isn’t clean. AG Communications Limited was fined £237,600 in November 2022 after the UKGC found the company to be non-compliant with anti-money laundering regulations. For the same offence, the company was handed a formal warning, and now operates with extra conditions attached to its licence.

Neptune Play – The Verdict

Neptune Play is better than it looks, which isn’t a difficult task. It has more bonuses than you’d expect it to have, offers more slots, and goes further by also offering sports betting and live dealer games. The instant withdrawals that the casino theoretically offers are great, too. However, there are also some big problems here. The lack of attention to things like spelling on the casino’s website makes it seem amateurish, and the standard of customer care that it provides is very poor. Casinos on the AG Communications Limited platform will always be compared to Mr Play, and against that kind of competition, Neptune Play is – ironically for a casino that used to have an undersea theme – drowning.

What are players saying about Neptune Play?

Here are our condensed / readers digest summaries of recent player reviews of Neptune Play.

  • 27-Aug-2024 by ADE:
I signed up and played with £700 at £2 stakes, and it’s very fishy. I didn’t get any bonuses, and the wins were only ever 20p or 30p. Compare that to any well-known site, where you’d at least expect some bonuses and decent wins, even with the bookie’s advantage. I tried live betting, but they never accepted my bet. I genuinely feel something isn’t right with this site, and I’d suggest sticking with more established casinos. – source: Trustpilot
  • 16-Aug-2024 by Irena:
This site is horrible! I received an offer where depositing £10 would give me 77 free spins, but I didn’t get the spins. When I contacted them via chat, they offered me £7.70 instead, but I didn’t receive that either! I’ve closed my account. This site is a scam and should be shut down. – source: Trustpilot
  • 14-Aug-2024 by Irfan:
I can’t believe this place! It’s the most obviously fraudulent site out there. I’ve even proved I’m self-excluded, yet I could still play here. I deposited 13 times and didn’t get my welcome offer. I begged them for £20, and they finally gave it to me. If you can find a place more fraudulent than this, I’ll happily give you £100. It’s unbelievable that people play here. – source: Trustpilot
  • 04-Aug-2024 by Steve:
I just made an account today, deposited £80 so far, and won a few £1s from various spins. It’s not looking good so far, as the odds seem to be very low. – source: Trustpilot
  • 01-Aug-2024 by Andrew:
Avoid this site at all costs – the quality is very poor. When I tried to complain about various issues, they closed my account without warning, even though I had a free bet and funds in my account. After numerous emails, they took three days to respond and said they found nothing wrong, refusing to return my money. Stay clear; there are much better sites out there. – source: Trustpilot
  • 30-Jul-2024 by Mems:
The payout was quick, although I haven’t won anything yet. I’m hoping my luck will change soon. If I start getting some good winnings, I’ll change my rating to five stars. But at the moment, it’s just not giving anything. – source: Trustpilot
  • 29-Jul-2024 by Sean:
I’m warning everyone – don’t play here. If you join this casino, you’ll be robbed of everything. You’ll hardly ever win, and the bonuses will be pitiful. I’ve closed my account after losing nearly £2,000 in two weeks and only getting about five bonuses out of that, all with wins of £20 or less. I know you can’t win all the time, but this casino seems designed to make sure you never win at all. Don’t be fooled by the five-star reviews – they’re fake. And if anyone did win big, they probably spent triple to get there, and even then, they likely only got back 40% of what they spent. There are much better casinos out there with higher RTPs. – source: Trustpilot
  • 23-Jul-2024 by JCM:
This site has impossible wagering requirements and very low RTP. I discovered today that their RTP is almost 10% lower per game than most reputable casinos. For example, “Legacy of the Dead” on Neptune Play has an RTP of 87.56%, while on Boylesports.com, the same game has an RTP of 94.51%. Both are MGA-licensed casinos. When I pointed this out and sent them screenshots of fair RTPs from MGA casinos, they apologised and passed it on to the relevant department, whoever that might be. They also kicked me out of a game and said there was a session error, so I had to relog. In the end, I lost all £200 and still had £400+ in wagering requirements. They don’t let you withdraw your own cash, forcing you to spend it. This is a predatory and shameless MGA casino. – source: Trustpilot
  • 19-Jul-2024 by Leigh:
I deposited £200, and it was taken from my bank twice, but neither amount was credited to my account. This was three days ago. I sent proof from my bank showing that the deposits were sent and received by the casino’s bank. I’ve been told to wait 6 hours, then 14, then until the next day. Now they’re saying there’s no time frame while they look into it. Basically, my money has been taken. It’s ridiculous – they have proof that it left my account! – source: Trustpilot
  • 17-Jul-2024 by Owen:
For anyone reading these bad reviews, I have no idea what they’re on about. The site has loads of games, even ones that most UK sites don’t have, and a lot of different providers. The site is quick, withdrawals are relatively fast, and live support is very helpful. I created an account last week and have won over £1,000. Bonuses do drop frequently. Don’t worry too much about these bad reviews – I think they’re wrong and just complaining because they couldn’t get a bonus. – source: Trustpilot
