The Dazzletag Entertainment Limited platform isn’t very big, and the operator seems to like it that way. This casino network has been around for a while, but after the first few additions, the PlaySunny sister sites network has never particularly grown in size. Casushi has always been the most prestigious of the casinos available on it, with the other PlaySunny sister sites (and PlaySunny itself) circling it in orbit. There have been a couple of changes to the network in the past couple of years, with the much-missed BingoCams shutting down and Bingo Stars coming along to replace it. Casushi

We’ve already sung the praises of Casushi above, so you already know that it gets our pick for being the best of the PlaySunny sister sites. However, the Casushi of today isn’t as much fun as the Casushi of 2022 and earlier. You can tell from the way that the Casushi name is styled (and the presence of the word ‘sushi’ in its name) that this was once a casino with an Oriental theme. The name has been retained, but the theme is gone. That’s a real shame, because we loved the “Casushi Master” and the life advice he use to dispense on his own dedicated page on the Casushi website – it gave the casino a sparkle and personality that you won’t find at any of the other PlaySunny sister sites. Nevertheless, the bright colours of Casushi still make the casino easy on the eye, and it still comes with thousands of games for players to enjoy.

Peachy Games

With the exception of Casushi, the PlaySunny sister sites have the same summery disposition as PlaySunny itself, as evidenced by Peachy Games. It’s a close match for Peacy Games in terms of appearance, and it’s also a close match for its sister site in terms of the portfolio of games on offer. That statement doesn’t exclusively apply to Peachy Games and PlaySunny, though – it’s equally true of all the casinos on this platform, as they broadly share the same package of games. Peachy Games does a slightly better job of highlighting what it has to offer than Casushi, with separate sections for its Slingo offerings. The hottest new slots game to touch down at the casino in the past seven days is Greedy Fox, which comes from StakeLogic. However, there’s a difference between this new slots game and most of the new releases that turn up at PlaySunny week after week – this isn’t actually a new game at all. StakeLogic released Greedy Fox six months ago, in April 2023. We’re not sure why it’s taken so long for it to reach PlaySunny, but perhaps it’s indicative of Dazzletag Entertainment Limited having a weaker relationship with Stakelogic than it does with most of its partner providers.

Set on a cartoon farm including such visual weirdness as a cow wearing lipstick, Greedy Fox is played on a large and cheerful 5*4 grid offering seventy ways to win. The slot comes with 96.01% RTP and slightly above-average volatility. The best parts of the game include the expanding wild symbol, which helps players to collect the various “egg scatter” prizes distributed around the grid. During free spins, there’s a theoretically unlimited multiplier in play for all wins, and the factor goes up with each new win. This is a slots game that looks good, plays well, and is likely to be popular with PlaySunny members – it’s just a shame that it took so long to find its way to the casino.

29th September 2023: It feels like Slingo games have become more experimental with every passing release. We’ve seen Slingo versions of every popular slots game of the past decade released within the past couple of years, but releasing Slingo versions of popular online slots apparently wasn’t enough for Slingo Originals. The company has now turned its attention to making Slingo versions of legendary video games, and the first of the new line is Slingo Space Invaders. The game is already available to play at PlaySunny despite not being scheduled for a wider release until late October. That’s a reminder of how good a job PlaySunny does at getting its hands on new releases before anybody else.

If you were a fan of the original Space Invaders game from the early 1980s, you should feel right at home with this. It comes with a fully playable version of the game as a minigame within the Slingo feature, and you can even win cash from playing it. Bonus cash multipliers in the base game go as high as x50, and there’s a free spins feature available as well. The automated nature of the bonus sometimes makes it feel like you’re not getting a fair shake, though, and the RTP of 94.02% is a little low. Still, though, it’s a novelty game, and that’s how it ought to be assessed. 15th September 2023: After last week’s surprise blip, we’re pleased to report that it’s business as usual again at PlaySunny this week. The casino has a new game to showcase, but it’s a new game that comes with a very familiar face. It’s called Scales of Dead, and the title alone should tell you nearly everything you want to know about it. While we’ve seen several other providers and game development companies start making “of Dead” slots in recent years, this one comes from Play’n Go, who are generally seen as the masters of the genre thanks to the success of Book of Dead.

Scales of Dead manages to introduce precisely one new element to this increasingly tired formula, and it’s a giant cobra. It’s the top-paying symbol in the slot and also the reason for its name (snakes have scales). We’ll happily praise Scales of Dead for its high production values and the multipliers that go up to x4 during “sandstorm” free spins, but it doesn’t offer us anything new. The Egyptian theme is played out to death, and there are still no features in the base game. Players are going to get tired of this formula eventually, and perhaps this is where it’ll happen. Ah, who are we kidding? They’ll lap it up just like they have with all the others! As well as being typical of the series in every other regard, Scales of Dead has typically high volatility and a mid-range RTP of 96.21%.

8th September 2023: It’s finally happened. PlaySunny has finally run out of new games to add to its homepage. That’s surely a dark day for Dazzletag Entertainment Limited because if there aren’t any new games to play at PlaySunny, you can be sure that there won’t be any new games to play at any of the PlaySunny sister sites either. We hope that this is a temporary blip and that there’s something new to run the rule over at PlaySunny next time around because the casino hasn’t made the news in any other way during the past seven days. It’s all gone very quiet.

It seems that players have also noticed the lack of new games at PlaySunny because if we assume that the “hot” tags on the games on the casino’s homepage reflect the most-played slots at PlaySunny, it becomes apparent that players have been digging into the old favourites while they wait for something new to turn up. One of those old favourites is 9 Pots of Gold by Gameburger Studios, which as many of you will already know, is an Irish-themed smash hit release from 2020. It made huge waves when it was released because of its innovative scatter bonuses, but it’s been a long time since it’s been considered “hot” at PlaySunny or anywhere else. That’s not a slight against 9 Masks of Gold, though, which remains a fun slots game to play even if it is a reskin of 9 Masks of Fire by the same provider.

1st September 2023: Things appear to be slowing down a little at Play Sunny as summer ends, but the casino still finds space to add a new game or two more often that it doesn’t. It’s just that some weeks, those new games are more interesting than they are in other weeks. This week is a prime example, as the latest addition to the Play Sunny catalogue is Reel Kingdom’s Big Bass Hold & Spinner Megaways. That’s right – the Big Bass Bonanza horse has been dead for a while now, but Reel Kingdom keeps beating it anyway in the hope that something miraculous will happen. This feels like the seven hundredth game in the franchise, which has seen far too many releases in too short a space of time for any of the newer ones to make an impact.

Perhaps we shouldn’t be so cynical. There are gameplay mechanics in Big Bass Hold & Spinner Megaways that have never existed in the series before, although we feel like we have to point out that a lot of those mechanics have been “inspired by” Rainbow Riches Drops & Wins. We suppose if you’re going to be inspired by any other series of slots, it might as well be the most successful one in iGaming history. The massive megaways system in this new Reel Kingdom creation is larger than average, with 147,456 ways to win. Cash fish multipliers during free spins are theoretically unlimited, and the maximum possible win is 20,000x stake. That top prize is estimated to pay out once every 1.49m spins.

25th August 2023: Summer – insofar as we even had one in the UK – is almost behind us, and as it leaves, it seems to be taking some of the heat away from the new games collection at Play Sunny. There’s one new title at the casino this week, but it’s Fishin’ Frenzy Even Bigger Catch Jackpot King. As it feels like at least the twentieth reheated and reissued clone of the original, we’re not sure it even merits mention as a new slots game save for the fact that it’s now hooked up to Blueprint’s famous Jackpot King system. We should note that some of the games we’ve listed as “new” at Play Sunny in weeks gone by are still wearing those “new” tags now, including the likes of Drop’Em and Wild Gold Fish.

While the new games at Play Sunny this week have been a disappointment. It’s always interesting to see what’s hot at the casino. It seems that players have had a particular taste for the classics this week, with Gold Blitz and Shaman’s Dream both listed as “hot.” Shaman’s Dream, which might be the second most successful slots game Eyecon has ever made after Fluffy Favourites’, remains “hot” despite a sequel being released last year. The original Fishin’ Frenzy is also hot, which isn’t a description that can be afforded to any of its sequels. We’ve seen gaps in new content from Play Sunny before, and our hope is that when we come back next week, the casino will have been stocked afresh with new creations.

18th August 2023: Another week has rolled by, which means it’s time once again to ask ourselves the question, “What’s new at Play Sunny?” As you’ll know if you’re a regular reader of these updates, there’s almost never a week when there isn’t a new slots game to play at the casino, and this week has proved to be no exception. Taking pride of place as the hottest new slots game added to the Play Sunny collection is Roamin’ Romans Ultra Nudge by Bang Bang Games. This slot couldn’t be any hotter off the press – it was only released on August 15th, so it looks like it found its way to Play Sunny immediately. That demonstrates the truth of what we’ve always said about Play Sunny being one of the best casinos to come to if you want fast access to new slots.

It doesn’t take a slots genius or a history professor to work out what the theme of Roamin’ Romans Ultra Nudge is – there’s a pretty big clue right there in the name. What you can’t tell from the name, though, is that this is a very volatile slot offering 96% RTP and 1024 ways to win. The Ultra Nudge feature, which is a little hard to describe in the confined space we have here, is triggered when a wild is involved in a win during the base game. Majestic White Rhino hasn’t exactly been tearing up trees since its release – it holds a lowly rank of 4347 in the UK with Slot Catalog – but it’s a competently-made slots game with bonuses including stacked wilds, a free spins feature, and a bonus round in which matching symbols can be collected to fill a meter and deliver a guaranteed cash prize of up to x500 against a player’s stake.
