The Sun Vegas Sister Sites

For a time, there were only two brands on the VF2011 Limited platform – The Sun Vegas and Sun Bingo. That’s because VF2011 Limited was born out of the newspaper group that publishes The Sun. Both Sun Vegas and Sun Bingo have proven to be popular iGaming sites, but a few years ago, someone at VF2011 decides that there should be some Sun Vegas sister sites, and so the Fabulous brand was born. Fabulous Bingo is a few years old now, but Fabulous Vegas is a relatively new addition to the platform, having been launched in 2011. All the information you need to know about the Sun Vegas sister sites can be found below.

Fabulous Bingo

Fabulous Bingo

Fabulous Bingo might not share the same branding as Sun Bingo and The Sun Vegas, but there are still tell-tale signs that this is a Sun Vegas sister site if you know where to look. The most obvious place is at the games collection, where you’ll notice the presence of both the Mystic Meg online slots game and the Mystic Meg-themed bingo room. Both of these products are exclusive to the Sun’s casinos. This vibrant hot pink-and-white has been online for a fair few years now, and while it isn’t as popular as its siblings (or even close to that level of fame), it’s a popular bingo site that goes beyond the parameters of what you’d necessarily expect to find at it. Fabulous Bingo offers a decent number of casino games – including a few with live dealers – to go with its bingo rooms and some well-matched promotions to make them all the more appealing. This is an elegant and classy website, laid out in the style of a glossy magazine, and is likely to appeal to the same demographic as Sun Bingo.

The Sun Vegas sister sites Fabulous Bingo

Sun Bingo

Sun Bingo

Sun Bingo is a bigger site than The Sun Vegas. There are so many casino games available at Sun Bingo that it’s a wonder VF2011 Limited sees a continuing need for The Sun Vegas to exist at all, but we guess their philosophy is that there’s no need to stop at one successful casino website when you could have two (or, in their case, three). This Sun Vegas sister site is the older of the two that bear the name of the newspaper and is also the one with the highest profile. You’re unlikely to see The Sun Vegas advertised on television, but commercials for Sun Bingo seem to appear every night. The site is very much led by bingo, as its name suggests, but “Sun Bingo” isn’t really an accurate description of everything that awaits you within it. It’s expanded far beyond those horizons and now offers every type of casino game you can think of, right down to virtual sports. Some of the prizes available within the frequent Sun Bingo prize drawls involve physical gifts, like holiday breaks to Ireland or Amazon vouchers. Sun Bingo is the king of the Sun Vegas sister sites and is likely to remain that way until VF2011 Limited decides to come up with something even bigger.

Sun Vegas sister sites Sun Bingo

Fabulous Vegas

Fabulous Vegas logo

Fabulous Vegas is an extension of the Fabulous Bingo brand in much the same way that Sun Vegas is an extension of the Sun Bingo brand. VF2011 has created a template with its Sun Vegas sister sites and seems to be intent on sticking to it. This is the newest of the casinos and iGaming sites on the platform, and so it ought to look sharper and more modern than all the rest. Unfortunately, it doesn’t. There’s nothing massively wrong with the way Fabulous Vegas is put together, but its plain blue background and stripped-down style mean that it doesn’t have anything that resembles a Las Vegas theme. That breaks the promise it makes with its name. The bigger problem, though, is that Fabulous Bingo already offers slots, and most of the slots you’ll find there are the same as the slots you’ll find at Fabulous Vegas. Fabulous Vegas is just Fabulous Bingo minus the bingo and with a different colour scheme. There’s no reason to visit it if you’ve already spent time at the other Sun Vegas sister sites unless you have a pressing need to move on from them.

: This week, Sun Vegas, with a promotional boost from its affiliated newspaper, The Sun, showcased a tempting welcome offer, casting the spotlight on an enticing package that grants 150 free spins on the popular game Legacy of the Tiger: Fire Blaze by Playtech. : The Sun recently promoted an exciting offer from its Vegas-themed gaming platform, Sun Vegas, aimed at new account holders. This promotion, available until the end of February 2024, offers a generous £50 bonus to players who deposit and spend £10 on the site. This welcome offer is designed to enhance the gaming experience for new players, providing them with extra funds to explore a wide range of games. The bonus can be used on a selection of games, each with unique themes and gameplay. Some of the eligible games include ‘9 Pots of Gold’, ‘Big Bass Bonanza’, ‘Cleopatra’, and ‘The Walking Dead’, offering players a diverse gaming experience.

To claim the bonus, players must be new to Sun Vegas sister sites and reside in the UK or ROI, with age and identity verification required. Upon depositing and spending the initial £10, players must accept the £50 bonus via a pop-up message within 72 hours of issuance. The bonus comes with a wagering requirement of 40 times the bonus amount, meaning players must wager a total of £2,000 to meet these requirements. The bonus expires 30 days after being issued, and if the wagering requirements are not met by then, the remaining bonus balance and any pending winnings will be removed. This offer is a great opportunity for new players to explore Sun Vegas’s extensive game library and potentially increase their winnings. However, players are reminded to gamble responsibly and within their means, ensuring that gaming remains a fun and enjoyable experience.

: The Sun has recently announced an exciting update to the Slot Light promotion at Sun Vegas and its sister sites. This revamped promotion offers players a chance to earn up to 25 free spins each week by engaging with the game of the week. For the current week, the spotlight is on Book of Faith, inviting players to delve into its gameplay. Upon meeting the staking requirements, participants can redeem their free spins on the reward game Leprechaun’s Luck: Cash Collect. The process to claim these spins is straightforward: players need to opt-in, deposit £10 during the promotional period, and stake the required amount on the featured game. The number of free spins awarded correlates with the amount staked, ranging from 5 free spins for a £10 stake to a maximum of 25 free spins for a £50 stake.

The Sun Vegas Slot Light

The value of each free spin is set at the minimum bet amount available on Leprechaun’s Luck. Players can earn a maximum of 25 free spins per week, and these spins will be credited to their account within 72 hours of the promotional period ending. Any winnings from these free spins will be credited as cash, adding to the appeal of the promotion. This promotion runs from Monday 27th November to Sunday 3rd December, providing a limited window for players to participate and earn their free spins. It’s important to note that terms and conditions apply, including a 7-day validity period for the free spins. This offer is a testament to Sun Vegas’s commitment to providing engaging and rewarding experiences for its players, combining the thrill of slot games with the excitement of earning free spins.

: This week, the Sun, writer Katrina Vasey shared her experience playing some of the slots from Playtech’s Age of the Gods (AOG) series on Sun Vegas. Her adventure into these mythologically themed games offers an intriguing glimpse into their win potential and overall gaming experience. Vasey embarked on her journey with a budget of £10, diving into three different AOG games. In the original Age of the Gods slot, she spent £3 and won £2.04. Vasey placed 20p bets, activating all pay lines for a higher chance of winning. Her next venture was into Age of the Gods: God of Storms III, where she again spent £3 but this time won £4.15. This game features Aeolus, the divine keeper of the winds, and includes a unique mechanic where ship wilds trigger free games, enhancing the potential for big wins. Finally, Vasey played Age of the Gods: Fate Sisters, spending £4 and winning £6.10. The game includes a feature where landing three scatter symbols allows players to choose from different free game modes.

Vasey’s experience highlights the engaging nature of the AOG series, with its rich mythological themes and varied gameplay features. While her total winnings amounted to £12.29, the experience underscores the potential for both entertainment and wins in these games. However, it’s important to note that while the win potential in these games can be high, it’s also subject to the inherent variability of slot games. Vasey’s experience serves as a testament to the AOG series’ popularity among fans of mythology-themed slots and those looking for a straightforward yet potentially rewarding online slot experience.

: The Sun Vegas got a PR boost this week when, e-Vegas, a casino review website, expanded its horizons to include a comprehensive evaluation of The Sun Vegas sister sites. This exciting move promises to provide players with invaluable insights into the diverse world of online gaming options. E-Vegas isn’t universally seen as a trusted source for discerning gamers seeking the best online casino experiences, but its latest focus on The Sun Vegas appears to be a genuinely impartial and balanced review. So, what does e-Vegas make of The Sun-branded site? One of the standout advantages of the casino is its commitment to a user-friendly interface. Navigating through the games and features is a breeze, even for newcomers. The seamless experience ensures that players can quickly immerse themselves in the virtual Las Vegas atmosphere.

The Sun Vegas Positive Review

The variety of games offered across these platforms is staggering. From classic table games to cutting-edge slots and live dealer options, there’s something for everyone; e-Vegas commends this extensive game library as it caters to diverse player preferences. On the flip side, e-Vegas also acknowledges some room for improvement. The promotional offers, while generous, could benefit from more diversity and ongoing rewards. Additionally, customer support response times have occasionally lagged behind expectations, a point of concern for e-Vegas. Unique attributes of the sister sites include their commitment to responsible gambling. With strong measures in place to prevent addiction and promote safe gaming, these platforms prioritize player well-being. In conclusion, e-Vegas has welcomed The Sun Vegas and its sister sites with open arms, appreciating their user-friendly interfaces and diverse gaming options.

: At a time of year where spooks and jackpots intertwine, The Sun newspaper has spotlighted a thrilling HalloWin cash drop promotion that’s currently captivating players at the Sun Vegas sister sites. Embracing the spirit of Halloween, this promotion promises not just chills and thrills but also a tantalizing opportunity to win a share of a generous prize pool. As the witching hour approaches, players have the chance to revel in daily cash drops, infusing a sense of excitement and anticipation. The allure of this promotion is not just the spine-tingling theme, but also the tantalising array of prizes awaiting lucky participants. For those keen to dive into this eerie adventure, the clock is ticking, as the promotion is set to culminate soon. Engaging with the promotion is no complex ritual. Players simply need to opt-in, in and play on the qualifying games to stand a chance at securing a slice of the Halloween pie. As with any promotion, it’s paramount for participants to be well-versed with the associated terms and conditions. A minimum stake is required for participation, and the promotion is open to UK and ROI residents aged 18 or over.

As the days grow shorter and nights longer, the HalloWin cash drop promotion stands as a beacon for those seeking a mix of adrenaline and fortune. The Sun’s article serves as a timely reminder for players to seize this opportunity before the shadows of Halloween fade away. So, gear up for a fusion of fun and fortune this spooky season!

: On the 17th of October, The Sun posted an intriguing article with the headline “My winnings from Sun Vegas mean I can rock this colourful fashion statement”. The article follows a familiar format by documenting what happened after giving a slots expert £10 to try out a series of games which tie in with a theme. This week, the theme was rainbows, which led the slots expert, Katrina, exploring games which have a colour in the title. One of the main achievements of articles such as these is setting realistic expectations on what to expect if you give a slot game a few spins. For example, Katrina spent £1.50 playing the game Red Silk but received nothing in return. She was a little luckier when she dipped into the action in Blue Wizard, but not by much. Overall, she accumulated winnings which totalled £2.37, which is a fairly decent turnover from a £10 budget.

Sun Vegas Keep up with Katrina

With her meagre winnings, she set herself the task of finding a fashion accessory to ‘jazz up her wardrobe’ which also ties in with the rainbow theme. You can’t get much for £2.37 these days, so it was nothing short of impressive that she was able to succeed in her mission. She purchased a rainbow set of laces for her trainers for the price of £2.03. The article headline definitely made out that the fashion piece that Katrina was able to purchase was infinitely more substantial and pricier, but as articles in the Sun go, this one wasn’t that misleading.

: On the 9th of October, The Sun newspaper spread the word that a new online slot game has been put into Sun Vegas’ ‘Slot Light’, which means you can claim up to 25 free spins on the reward game, Age of the Gods: God of Storms III. To claim the free spins, you are required to opt-in via the promo page and wager a minimum of £10 on the game Sun Bonanza. If you meet the minimum staking requirements, you will be able to claim five free spins; the more you stake, the more you can claim. To claim the maximum number of 25 free spins, you will need to stake at least £50, which is a pretty dire stake-bonus ratio, but if you love the action in Sun Bonanza, and you have the budget to meet the requirements, there is little harm in grabbing the free spins for the reward game.

Any winnings from the free spins will be paid in cash, meaning you won’t need to go through the rigmarole of fulfilling wagering requirements to withdraw your winnings. After the staking requirements have been met, you may have to wait up to 72 hours to see your free spins hit your account, but more often than not, they will appear instantly. As with many of the promotions from the Sun Vegas sister sites, this one is strictly limited to people playing in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. When Sun Bonanza moves out of the Slot Light, expect a brand-new game to take its place.

The Sun Vegas Review 2024

The Sun Vegas is, as you might have guessed from its name, an online casino owned and branded by the Sun newspaper. It’s one of the most popular – not to mention controversial – daily newspapers in the UK. Sun Vegas is the second Sun-branded casino to be launched in the UK by VF2011 Limited, following on the heels of the Sun Vegas sister site Sun Bingo. The site doesn’t offer much that isn’t already available at Sun Bingo, but it presents its extensive online slots and casino games collection with a hint of Las Vegas flair and a focus on modern styles of gaming. Has the casino found its spot in the market after its 2011 launch, or is it an unnecessary casino on the grounds that Sun Bingo already exists? Which of the Sun Vegas sister sites is more deserving of your money? This review will help you to decide.

The Sun Vegas sister sites homepage

The site takes its design cues from the Sun newspaper itself, so the colours are red and white. Loading speed isn’t an issue at Sun Vegas, and nor is finding your way around the site so long as all you’re looking for is games. Customer service and support options are a little more difficult to find, but we’ll come to that later. The site’s Vegas feel is established through a background image that shows the famous replica of the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas, with the stunning Sin City skyline lit up behind it. Your attention is more likely to be attracted by the casino’s welcome offer, though, so we’ll take a closer look at that now.

The Sun Vegas Welcome Offers

The welcome offer for new players at The Sun Vegas is a matched fund bonus applicable to a newcomer’s first deposit. Subject to a minimum of £10 and a maximum of £300, all first deposits are matched at 100%. Once bonus funds have been allocated to a player’s account, they must be played through in full within thirty days, or they’ll be removed. The funds can be redeemed only on certain online slots and aren’t valid inside the live casino. They’re also subject to an x50 wagering requirement, which is a significant jump up from the industry average of x35. Only deposits made via bank transfer or debit card are considered valid under the promotion’s terms and conditions, so PayPal and e-wallet deposits won’t trigger the bonus.

Ongoing Promotions

The Sun Vegas keeps it simple with promotions and incentives when compared with the Sun Vegas sister sites, most notably Sun Bingo. Whether or not you decide to use the welcome offer is up to you, but the only other promotion available at Sun Vegas is the site’s “loyalty points” scheme. This is the Sun Vegas equivalent to a VIP reward program. The basic idea is that players earn points for every betting activity they partake in on the site, whether that be playing games or making deposits. Loyalty points can be converted into cash once a certain level has been reached. The rate of accrual is one loyalty point for every £10 wagered and spent on the casino’s online slots. This increases to £20 per point on roulette, card, and live casino games and £30 per point for video poker or blackjack. The rate of redemption isn’t fantastic. Players are able to withdraw £1 in cash for every 100 loyalty points they gain. That means if you’re playing online slots, you get £1 back for every £1000 you spend.

The information on the loyalty points page tells players that building up a substantial amount of points is the key to becoming a “Priority Member” of Sun Vegas. That sounds like a formal VIP club, but no further information about this club is provided anywhere on the Sun Vegas website.

The Sun Vegas: Pros and Cons

Pros: The Sun Vegas has a substantial and attractive portfolio of casino games. Every major provider is represented along with their best creations, and the chances of finding hidden gems within the casino are high, too. Making deposits is also easy because of the number of different payment methods that Sun Vegas supports.

Cons: While the site makes a lot of noise about its promotions, the reality is that they’re not great. The viability of the welcome offer is watered down enormously by the high wagering requirement and the fact that it can only be spent on certain slots, and the rate of cashback offered by the loyalty points scheme is pathetically low. Additionally, the site can’t commit to processing withdrawals any faster than four business days.

Featured Slots and Casino Games

The Sun Vegas Banner

You need only look at the homepage to find out which slots and games Sun Vegas is most proud to host. The “featured” section of the casino site is a mixture of new slots and hot slots, so while the new slots will change regularly, the hot slots are more likely to stay at the top because of their enduring popularity. Here are a few of the slots that occupy those positions right now.

Cheltenham Sporting Legends: Ash Gaming’s “Sporting Legends” online slots are usually smash hits, and this horse racing-themed one doesn’t look likely to be an exception to that rule. The developer released it in March 2022, just in time for the real Cheltenham Festival. Played on a 5*4 grid with no fewer than three progressive jackpots to play for, Cheltenham Sporting Legends also comes with a “wild snake” bonus feature and three respins features designed to replicate the excitement of a real-life horse race. RTP is 94.21%, with average volatility.

Wild Pistolero: This is a “Wild West” themed slot from Rarestone Gaming and comes with the provider’s signature “Mega Fire Blaze” bonus features. For those not familiar with the format, it’s a series of respins that expand the reels each time they’re triggered. Coupled with the number of randomly-generated reel modifiers in the good-looking base game of this Western slot, it means every spin feels different to the one before. There’s also a free spins bonus, but it’s weak sauce compared to the excitement of the respins round. This slot offers 95.96% RTP and comes with moderate volatility.

Gold Party: Everything about this Irish-themed Wild Streak Gaming slot is designed to surprise players. It looks like the most generic, uninspired slots game you’ve ever seen in this genre when you first load it, but if you can get rolling with the bonus features, you’ll eventually find that it expands into four matching 5*3 grids that spin independently of each other. Each of those grids comes with a different reel modifier, and when respins are triggered on one of them, the feature is replicated across the rest. The volatility of Gold Party is every bit as high as you’d expect it to be after reading that description, and RTP is 95.48%.

Clicking through the links at the top of the Sun Vegas homepage will show you that the casino site also offers jackpot games, simulated and live casino and table options, and an array of virtual sports to bet on. The promotions at Sun Vegas might not stand up against what’s on offer at the Sun Vegas sister sites, but there’s nothing wrong with its collection of games.

Deposit and Withdrawal Methods

You won’t be left in any doubt about which payment methods The Sun Vegas accepts because they’re all listed in order in the footer of the website. Your UK debit card will be valid so long as it’s Visa, Mastercard, or Maestro. Paysafe pre-paid cards are welcomed at the site, too, as are Skrill, Moneybookers and PayPal e-wallets. All deposits made to The Sun Vegas should be available as ready funds in a player’s account immediately.

Withdrawals might be an issue. The wording of the site is needlessly vague regarding withdrawals, saying only that the average turnaround time is 4-7 business days. That’s way slower than it should be for what’s supposedly a big-time online casino site and doubly so for customers using e-wallets. Instant or one-day withdrawals with e-wallets are becoming the standard everywhere else, and so they should be available here.

Customer Support and License

There isn’t a “help” or “contact us” button on the Sun Vegas website. That might be frustrating if you suddenly find yourself in need of assistance and don’t know where to look. On the right-hand side of the page, though, is a tiny ‘i’ symbol. Click on that to be taken to an information page where you’ll find the site’s FAQ and a “contact us” dropdown. From there, you’ll find that you’ll be able to phone, email or live chat with Sun Vegas customer support assistants between 8am and 1am every day.

The Sun Vegas is a dual-licenced casino covered by the UK Gambling Commission (45110) and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (136C1).

The Sun Vegas: The Verdict

To borrow a cliche from football, reviewing the Sun Vegas is a game of two halves. It’s easy to be impressed by the depth of the gaming catalogue and what appears to be a fantastic welcome promotion, but then you look a little deeper and realise there are issues. The welcome offer is nowhere near as generous as it sounds, and the loyalty points reward program pays out so little money in relation to what customers have to pay in that it may as well not be there. Throw slow withdrawals into the mix, and it isn’t hard to see why Sun Bingo is so much more popular than Sun Vegas.

Sun Vegas Behind The Headlines

Staring at the Sun

There’s nothing in the UK more visible than the sun. We don’t mean our native star, of which we see very little in the UK outside of the summer months. We mean the Sun newspaper, which has arguably been the most popular newspaper (outside of Liverpool) in the country for the past thirty years. Articles written in the Sun can end the career of politicians. Opinions written in its sports section can cause a football manager to lose their job. Whether we like it or not – and there are plenty who don’t – the Sun matters.

Aside from being a very familiar brand to British people, the Sun is backed by Rupert Murdoch’s News International company. That means it has a massive budget to throw behind just about any promotional endeavour it wants to get involved in. When the Sun decided it wanted to get involved in the growing UK casino scene a few years ago, it was inevitable that its chosen brand would become one of the biggest names in the game from the moment it launched. That’s proved to be the case with Sun Vegas.

Marketing Genius

The biggest advantage that Sun Vegas has over any of its rivals in the casino game is that it doesn’t need to pay for advertising. The casino has never aired a televised advert, but that doesn’t matter. It doesn’t have a Twitter account, but it’s never going to need one. It doesn’t have an official celebrity sponsor or endorsement because it’s never going to need one of those either. The Sun Vegas has the advantage of being able to appear in the Sun newspaper whenever it wants, attached to any global megastar it likes. That’s the kind of promotional edge that money can’t buy, and it puts the casino’s name in places that no other casino could reach.

There will never be a major sporting event mentioned on the Sun’s website without a link being provided so that readers can go and place a bet on it. The Sun Vegas site might specialise in slots and casino games, but it also has a sportsbook, and it uses its sports betting offers as a lure for everything else. If there’s a big fight coming up, you’ll find references to Sun Vegas in the Sun’s coverage of it. If a football manager looks likely to lose their job and there’s a story about it in the Sun, you’ll find a link to go and bet on who their replacement is likely to be. This kind of constant high-visibility coverage would cost six or seven figures for any other casino. For The Sun Vegas, it’s free.

Support From Other Sources

Given everything we’ve said above, it’s clear that The Sun Vegas doesn’t need support or coverage from other news outlets or publications in order to be a success. It has everything it needs already. Despite that, it gets coverage in other places anyway. One of those places is the Scottish newspaper The Scotsman, which gave us its take on the best slots in the UK in October 2021. The purpose of the article was to review slots rather than any particular casino website. Despite that, it found space to both mention and link to The Sun Vegas in its reviews of the Red Wizard slot. The mention looks a little like paid promotion, although we can’t imagine why The Sun Vegas would want or need to pay for such a product placement. Other casino websites were mentioned in the same article, so it might have been a genuine reflection of the Scotsman’s opinion that The Sun Vegas is the best place to go to play the slot.

A little earlier in 2021, Yahoo Finance decided to cast its eye over the best online slots and casino websites on the internet that allow players to deposit and withdraw funds via Paypal. It picked ten sites and ranked them according to their relative merits. The Sun Vegas was ranked third overall (behind Play OJO and Mansion Casino) and was named the best of all the options for its table games and dedicated live dealers.

Second Billing?

For all the advantages that the Sun Vegas has – all of which we’ve outlined above – it might still be a secondary priority in the eyes of the Sun newspaper and the owners of the casino website. That’s because The Sun Vegas isn’t the only casino and gambling brand associated with the newspaper. There’s also Sun Bingo – and Sun Bingo isn’t just a bingo website. Sun Bingo also offers casino and slots games. It offers everything that Sun Vegas does apart from sports betting – and seems to get much more promotional backing from its owners than Sun Vegas does.

Unlike the Sun Vegas brand, Sun Bingo has indulged in a few big-money sponsorships. It was the final sponsor of the ill-fated Jeremy Kyle show before ITV took the show and its controversial host off the air a few years ago. More recently, it’s sponsored “Love Island.” Those aren’t the only things that Sun Bingo has done on television. In another key difference between Sun Vegas and Sun Bingo, the latter brand has advertised solidly on television for more than ten years.

Between 2018 and 2019, the face of the Sun Bingo TV commercials was Jayde Adams, a comedian and actor who’s best known for her appearances on “Alma’s Not Normal” and “Good Omens” as well as appearing as herself on panel shows like “8 Out of 10 Cats” and “Crazy Delicious.” It was during this time that the “Are You Gonna Bingo” advertisements were launched. The insanely catchy theme tune to the adverts – which was sung by Adams – wormed its way into the heads of viewers and brought new customers to the Sun Bingo website.

All of this is good news for Sun Bingo, but less so for Sun Vegas. There’s nothing stopping Sun Bingo from deciding to offer sports betting alongside all of its other casino entertainment at some point in the future. Should that happen, we’d have to ask what the point of Sun Vegas is. It does fine because of its brand name, and it’s still heavily promoted by the Sun, but it seems to be the lesser of the two casinos in the eyes of the people who manage the brand.
