Is the new Vickers better than ever? Let’s review it and find out.

Vickers Welcome Promotions

Here’s an immediate improvement. In its previous home, Vickers didn’t offer any welcome promotions. With AG Communications, it offers two – but they’re not big ones. The welcome promotion for sports bettors at Vickers is a free £10 bet in return for signing up, depositing £10 into your new account, and then wagering it on any sport with odds of 2.00 or more. The bet will be awarded automatically. If you’re more interested in making use of Vickers Casino, you can deposit £20 to get fifty free spins on a top slots game like Big Bass: Day at the Races. That’s a well-chosen slot to go with the Vickers brand. Anything won from those bonus spins will have to be wagered x25 before it can be withdrawn, which is fair enough.

Other Promotions

We’ve had a positive from the change of network, so now here’s a negative: Moving platforms means that Vickers no longer offers the Vickers Racing Club that used to be at the core of the site’s identity for many years. Pros: Vickers is a trusted brand. The same family that’s managed the company since its inception decades ago is still in charge, and it manages to retain a “family-run” feel even on a big network. Cons: The loss of the Vickers Racing Club is a big one for the brand, and we’ve seen complaints about it on review websites. The next races – both horses and greyhounds – are relegated to the side menus, with football treated as more important even if there’s nothing live to bet on other than the latest kick-offs in Paraguay (no, that’s not an exaggeration – that’s what we saw when we wrote this review). If you can forgive Vickers for that, you’ll find that every sport you might conceivably want to bet on is covered on the long list. Specials like entertainment and politics are also available.

Withdrawal Processing & Support

Vickers will allow you to withdraw your money almost any way you want to, but timings are frustratingly imprecise. Debit card withdrawals, for instance, might be instant, but they could also take up to six business days. Withdrawals made by bank transfer will take between two and six days. If you’re using an e-wallet (the site supports MuchBetter, PayPal, Neteller and Skrill), you’ll get your money either instantly or within two days. Trustly and Rapid Transfer transactions might take up to four days, but they could also be instant. We appreciate the casino is covering its bases here, but we still think it could narrow those timescales down a little.

Customer Services & Licensing

Customer support is a disaster. We’re old enough to remember when you could pick up the phone and ring someone at Vickers if you had a problem. There isn’t even a live chat option, which is the bare minimum we expect.

The UK Gambling Commission licence that covers Vickers is number 39483, and is held by AG Communications Limited. In November 2022, the UKGC fined AG Communications £237,600 for failing to follow licence conditions regarding the prevention of money laundering. The company received an official warning and the imposition of further licence conditions for the same offence. The licence remains in force, and further covers the Vickers sister sites. We should note that the fine was levied before Vickers joined the AG Communications platform.

Vickers – The Verdict

It’s hard to say whether Vickers is better or worse for leaving its old network behind and joining a new one. We’re sure the ultimate owners of the Vickers brand had their reasons for moving their white-label site, but it’s a risky one. Loyal customers aren’t happy about losing Vickers Racing Club, but new ones might be attracted by the fact that the site now offers welcome bonuses.
