The remaining two Audeo N.V. casinos allow players in the UK to register and play but don’t have a recognised iGaming licence. Malibu Club Casino

This is a classy-looking casino with a beach-ready red and blue colour scheme and a panoramic view of palm trees on the homepage behind the motto “welcome to paradise.” The casino will surely feel like paradise to anybody who’s able to claim the full maximum welcome bonus allowance of £10,000. Peer beyond the good lucks and the massive welcome offer, though, and we’re back to having no further promotions once the buzz of the introductory offers has worn off. You probably won’t play slots at many prettier casinos, but you’ll play at many that have better rewards and more games to offer. With Raging Bull gone, Malibu Club Casino is now the flagship brand of the Audeo N.V. casino network – although there isn’t much competition for that spot given that it’s one of only two remaining casinos. 

Grand Fortune Casino

Grand Fortune Casino takes elements of Audeo N.V.’s other online slots websites and brings them together to make something bigger. Its cartoon graphics are a cut above the other casinos. The range of entertainment on offer is better, too, with live poker available along with classic table games, roulette, and blackjack. It feels like a more well-rounded online casino than its sister sites. To prove the point that this will be the pick of the bunch for most players, Grand Fortune Casino has a VIP reward scheme with five tiers and extensive cashback, bonus funds, and enhanced withdrawal features. Raging Bull Casino was the most well-known of the Audeo N.V. casinos because of its age, but Grand Fortune Casino is the one that should be getting more attention based on quality. Even with that said, though, the limited number of providers still hurts its overall appeal – and the poor reputation of the company that operates it doesn’t help much either. Ultimately, Grand Fortune Casino isn’t covered by a recognised licence – and that’s a big enough red flag to give it a wide berth.

Kings Chance Casino (inactive)

As we noted earlier, this was Audeo NV’s first-ever casino website and is also the casino brand that died and came back to life. It bit the dust in 2017 but came back with a new look and a new lease of life. The casino promised players a “king’s welcome” of up to ten thousand pounds when they register for an account, along with some free spins to enjoy. The “king” of the casino’s name appeared to be King Neptune based on the graphics, although the overall theming of the casino wasn’t strong. King’s Chance Casino has subsequently closed down for a second time and isn’t expected to perform another miraculous resurrection trick. 

Raging Bull Casino (inactive)

The look and feel of Raging Bull Casino were very different to that of Kings Chance Casino, which means that Audeo NV treats its brands as separate entities rather than templates to be rebadged. The rewards for playing at Raging Bull Casino – which had a sickly green colour scheme topped off by a bright green genie – were a vast improvement on Kings Chance. Raging Bull Casino operated a full VIP reward scheme, which should have given long-term players a compelling reason to stick around and keep playing. In addition, the casino advertised 24/7 telephone customer support. Based on player reviews, the reality of playing at Raging Bull Casino was very different. It would sometimes take weeks for Raging Bull Casino to pay out big wins. In some cases, it wouldn’t pay out at all, and wouldn’t engage with complaints. The casino’s reputation became so bad that it was blacklisted on multiple review websites, so it was no huge surprise when it closed at the end of 2021. 

About Audeo N.V.

Audeo NV opened in Curacao in March 2019 and claims to have obtained a license from its Government to offer casino games, but Curacao wasn’t the first place that Audeo N.V opened. You can trace the company back a little over a decade to 2010, which was the year it launched the Kings Chance Casino. That casino shut in 2017 without publishing a reason why and has since come back to life again after being absent until 2021 – and then vanished for a second time. The closure appears to have prompted a reorganisation of Audeo NV, which culminated in the Curacao registration. All of the casinos that the company owns and operates were opened long before Audeo NV switched jurisdictions. Even with the move to Curacao, though, the licensing status of the casino network company is far from clear. Audeo NV claims to have an iGaming licence from within the territory but presents no evidence of this. It also allows players from the UK to sign up for its remaining casino sites, which would be a breach of any such licence. 

It’s commonplace for casino companies that register in Curacao to also have a subsidiary company based in Nicosia, Cyprus, to handle the practical side of running the business. That isn’t the route that Audeo NV has gone down. Instead, it’s placed its four casino brands into the hands of a UK-based company called Merus, which has offices in Huntingdon.

Merus UK

It’s by looking at Merus UK that we can better appreciate the history of Audeo NV. Because the latest incarnation of Audeo NV was registered in 2019, it looks like Merus is the older of the two companies. It isn’t. Merus UK was created in 2012 by the previous incarnation of Audeo NV for the express purpose of managing its casino business. Information contained in the footer of Merus UK casino sites makes it clear that it offers them on the basis that it holds a license via Audeo NV. The sites are available to UK players but use American dollars as a default currency – which is a double fault as the casinos shouldn’t be available to anybody in the UK or the USA. 

Every casino operated by Merus and Audeo NV works on Real Time Gaming’s platform. The sites are efficient and load quickly but also come with an extremely limited portfolio of slots and games. Real Time Gaming aren’t among the biggest online slots providers in the world, and so unless you’ve come across their work before and enjoyed their creations, you’re unlikely to see many familiar slots in the archives of an Audeo NV casino. Nor will you find any live dealer or video poker games. The RTG collection is beefed up a little by additional games from Gamevy and Betsoft, but Audeo NV doesn’t have a partner to provide access to live dealers.

Finding information about a company based in the UK ought to be easier than finding information about a company based in Curacao, but Merus UK does a good job of keeping out of the spotlight. The most recent published figures show that the company made revenue of around £250,00 in the past twelve months and appointed a new director in the middle of 2021. Whether a new director means a change in direction for the company remains to be seen. The directors of Merus UK aren’t also listed as having an interest in Audeo NV, but Audeo NV is noted by Companies House as having a controlling stake in Merus UK, thus further underlining the symbiotic relationship between the two businesses. Merus UK is also listed as the owner of the Fast Track Affiliates casino marketing platform, of which all of its casino brands are clients. No news has been posted on the Fast Track Affiliates website since the middle of 2016, but the platform is believed to remain open. Like the casinos attached to it, Fast Track Affiliates has a dreadful reputation within the industry. With negative coverage everywhere you look and a slew of complaints about late payments or refusal to pay, there have to be question marks about how much longer Audeo NV will exist in its current format.
