Great Bet Review 2024

We don’t think anybody at Great Bet would be mortally offended if we suggested that it isn’t one of the biggest sports betting sites in the UK. We don’t think it’s even in the top fifty, if we’re totally honest. Despite that, it’s managed to remain online since 2011, so we assume that it has some regular customers. Great Bet is little more than a front for GR8ODDS Limited, which operates two small betting shops in the south of London. The website that it operates is a little bland and featureless, but let’s see if it has hidden depths.

Great Bet Welcome Promotions

This isn’t the best of starts in terms of looking for hidden depths at Great Bet – the site doesn’t have any welcome promotions. It doesn’t put anything on the table to welcome new players. While it’s become customary at pretty much every other sports betting site serving the UK market to offer at least one small free bet to new players, the memo hasn’t reached anybody at Great Bet. Forget about getting the red carpet treatment here – it doesn’t exist.

Other Promotions

Great Bet might not have any welcome promotions, but it’s not a totally barren land when it comes to promotions. It operates a Best Odds Guarantee for horse racing in the UK. While the same offer exists at dozens of other UK-facing sports betting sites, it’s a nice feature to have.

The best promotion at Great Bet is its ongoing loyalty reward scheme, which is delivered as a cashback promotion. Each month, players who’ve lost more than they’ve won receive five per cent cashback on their losses. The example given on the website is that if a player loses £300 during the month of May, they’ll automatically receive a cashback fund of £15 in their account at the beginning of June. Cashback rewards are subject to a minimum overall loss of £200. There’s no stated maximum award on the website, and there doesn’t appear to be a wagering requirement attached to the money.

In addition to the above, Great Bet offers treble the odds for only one winner on specific horse racing bets so long as every selection runs, plus percentage bonus boosts. An extra two races per day are treated as “extra place races” to give players a better chance of making at least something back on their bets. These bonuses aren’t going to set the world on fire, but they’re better than nothing.

Pros and Cons of Great Bet

Pros: Despite being such a small site and having so few features, Great Bet claims to be able to process withdrawals within fifteen minutes. If this site can do it, there’s no reason why bigger brands can’t. The ongoing cashback incentive is a nice thing to have for loyal players, and the sportsbook that Great Bet offers is pretty comprehensive.

Cons: Great Bet doesn’t belong to the modern age. Its customer service is close to non-existent, and the only way to withdraw funds from the site is via bank transfer (albeit very fast bank transfers). There aren’t any inventive promotions to liven the site up, and there aren’t any casino games to fill in the time while you’re waiting for results to come in. It’s all a little bit dull.

We’re going to assume that you read the pros and cons section above, in which case you’ll know that Great Bet doesn’t offer any casino games. Great Bet might not have any casino games, but it works well as a traditional sports betting bookie. We’ve mostly covered this above, but we feel the need to emphasise just how limited Great Bet is when it comes to deposit and withdrawal processing. The only way to get money into your Great Bets account is by BACS, which is almost unheard of in this day and age. Similarly, withdrawals can only be delivered via bank transfer and have to be requested by email rather than through an automated process. With that in mind, we presume that the quoted turnaround of fifteen minutes is subject to someone picking the email up and processing it during that time.
