Rock’n Reels Sister Sites 2024

ROCK’N REELS IS NOT COVERED BY A UK GAMBLING COMMISSION LICENCE.

Rock’n Reels, managed by a Curacao-based company and tailored for the Australian market, unsurprisingly lacks a UK Gambling Commission licence. This is a common trait among casino network companies from Curacao. Cesario N.V., the owner of the Rock’n Reels sister sites, follows this trend. For UK-based players, this means that while registration and play at Rock’n Reels are possible, it’s not advisable. Engaging with this casino could expose UK players to various risks and potential financial losses, with no protective regulatory framework in place. However, for players and readers outside the UK, let’s get into what Rock’n Reels and its sister sites have to offer.

Royal Reels

Royal Reels logo

The first thing you’re likely to think when you land on the homepage of Royal Reels, having been to Rock’n Reels before, is, “Wow, this looks an awful lot like Rock’n Reels.” It’s not unusual for casinos that share a network to look similar, but the resemblance between the Rock’n Reels sister sites is closer than that. They’re twins, right down to their colour schemes. Another thing they have in common, we’re afraid to say, is their lack of theming. Just as Rock’n Reels fails to deliver on what should be a rock and roll theme, Royal Reels fails to deliver anything that resembles a touch of regality. It’s a very plain, to-the-point iGaming site.

If Royal Reels does anything better than Rock’n Reels, it’s in the way that it showcases its casino games – there are more of them on the homepage here than there are on the homepage of Rock’n Reels. Aside from that, though, the promotions are comparable, and the terms and conditions are broadly similar. There isn’t much variety to be had among the Rock’n Reels sister sites, but perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised by that when we’re talking about a casino network that only has two sites on it.

Rock’n Reels Review 2024

If you’ve been following our coverage so far, you’re likely already well-informed about Rock’n Reels. For starters, it’s part of the portfolio of Cesario N.V., a Curacao-based casino network company, and primarily serves the Australian market. Moreover, as previously mentioned when discussing Royal Reels, Rock’n Reels sports a plain and grey design. Despite its name conjuring images of a vintage rock and roll theme, such a motif is conspicuously absent at this iGaming site, and the lack of theming is to the casino’s detriment. However, the question is: can Rock’n Reels compensate for this lack of thematic flair with outstanding content? Let’s find out.

Rock’n Reels Welcome Promotions

We’ll confess to being a little confused about the Rock’n Reels welcome promotion. It’s advertised on the homepage as a 100% deposit match up to a maximum value of £200. There’s nothing to click on to secure the bonus, though, so we went to the casino’s “Promotions” page in search of it. When we got there, it was nowhere to be found. Does the promotion exist? If it does, how are we supposed to claim it? These are questions that the Rock’n Reels website can’t answer.

Other Promotions

While the headline welcome promotion doesn’t appear to exist, there’s another bonus that could be classed as a welcome promotion on the grounds that it can only ever be claimed once per player, and it’s claimable from the moment that you register an account. It’s a live casino bonus, awarded as a 100% matched deposit up to a maximum value of £100. The bonus can (unsurprisingly) only be used on live casino games and has to be wagered x50 before it can be withdrawn. That’s a steep wagering requirement and makes turning the bonus cash into real cash a daunting prospect.

The other promotions at the casino are swapped out daily but can’t be seen in advance. As an example, we visited Rock’n Reels to write this review on a Thursday, and the Thursday bonus available was a 50% deposit match on deposits up to £200, with an x50 wagering requirement. We don’t know what the bonus was yesterday, and there’s no indication of what the bonus might be tomorrow. As such, the promotions page is probably worth checking each time you visit the casino.

Pros and Cons of Rock’n Reels

Pros: Rock’n Reels has its bases fairly well covered for a Curacaon casino. It has clear information available about its bonuses, publishes banking information, lists licensing information, and generally provides a lot of details that Curacao casinos are notorious for leaving out. It behaves in a manner that suggests that it wants to be trusted.

Cons: There are disconnects between expectations and reality on the website. The welcome promotion touted on the homepage doesn’t appear to exist. There’s a link to a sportsbook, but the sportsbook won’t load. Strangest of all is the fact that the casino doesn’t promote a single game on its homepage, so there isn’t much for potential players to get tempted to register an account by. While the casino does hold a licence, it’s a Curacao eGaming licence and offers no protection to players in the UK.

Top Games at Rock’n Reels

This very much ties into what we said a moment ago about the lack of games on the Rock’n Reels homepage. It’s hard to say that the casino has any “top games” at all when it doesn’t bother to showcase any of them on its homepage. We can see the various iGaming categories listed across the top menu of the website – sports, slots, live casino and speciality – but even that’s a little misleading. Sports betting doesn’t work, and the “speciality” section comprises just one game (Aviator). It’s almost like the Rock’n Reels website was accidentally uploaded before it was finished, but it’s been online like this for some time now.

It’s only upon selecting the “Slots” option that we find out which slots and games Rock’n Reels values most highly. Pragmatic Play, No Limit City, Relax Gaming and Hacksaw Gaming are all promoted with banners on this page of the website, suggesting games from these sources are treated with more reverence than games that come from elsewhere. There are sections in this part of the website for game shows and live tables, too, which confirms that the casino could and should be doing a much better job of showing off its full range. The top slots, for those interested, all come from Pragmatic Play and are The Dog House, Big Bass Splash and Gates of Olympus.

Withdrawal Processing & Support

Like a lot of casinos that set up camp in Curacao, Rock’n Reels supports cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is welcome here for both deposits and withdrawals, as is Ethereum. However, for those who aren’t on the blockchain, Rock’n Reels also handles transactions via bank transfer or to any Mastercard, Visa, or Maestro debit card. The terms and conditions of the site state that, where possible, withdrawals will be processed and funded within twenty-four hours of a request being made. However, a warning is given that if further documentation is required, there could be extensive delays.

Customer Services & Licensing

Customer support is where Rock’n Reels really lets itself down. It doesn’t offer live chat, which is very strange to us, because Royal Reels does. If you want assistance, all you can do is either complete the contact form or email [email protected]. The casino says nothing about waiting times, so we have no idea whether you’ll hear back from someone in a few minutes or a few days.

Rock’n Reels holds a licence from Curacao eGaming under registration number 159446. We’ve been able to verify that the licence exists and is valid. However, that doesn’t mean it offers any protections to players in the UK. Curacao eGaming is famously reticent about taking action against casinos and operators even when misconduct is obvious, and it’s especially unlikely to help a player who lives in a different regulated territory and shouldn’t really be playing at one of its casinos anyway. Nevertheless, it’s a recognised iGaming licence, and it also applies to the Rock’n Reels sister sites.

Rock’n Reels – The Verdict

Rock’n Reels gets more things right than most Curacao casinos get right, but that doesn’t change the fundamental truth that it allows UK-based players to register when it’s well aware that it shouldn’t be doing so. Even if we put that aside, the Rock’n Reels website is very much a mixed bag. Certain features – sports betting, for example – simply don’t work, and promotions are present on one page and then missing on another. The whole casino doesn’t quite tie itself together neatly, so we’re not sure we’d want to play at it even if we lived in Curacao. Better options exist both domestically and internationally.
