Payment and withdrawal information at Betway isn’t as clear as it could be. Checking the FAQs within the help section of the site tell us that the site accepts debit cards, e-wallets, and PayPal, but nowhere does it specifically tell us which debit cards and e-wallets are acceptable. Going off the logos in the footer of the site, we think – but cannot confirm – that Betway accepts all Mastercard and Visa debit cards plus Neteller, Rapid Transfer, and PayPal. Skrill and Trustly aren’t mentioned, and so we’re forced to assume they don’t work here.

The speed of your withdrawals will vary depending on which method you use. If you’re using PayPal or an e-wallet, you should only be waiting between two and twenty-four hours. For bank transfers and card withdrawals, the quoted turnaround is two business days.

If you’re a Premier League football fan, you’ll see the Betway name often. If you’re a West Ham United fan, you’ll see it every week. Betway is the shirt sponsor of the Hammers, and has been for a couple of years now. This is a very visible commercial partnership, and it’s one that Betway is very proud of. That much is made obvious when you load the Betway website and the first thing you see is a picture of West Ham’s Michail Antonio wearing his claret-and-blue shirt with the company’s name on it. He’s flanked by Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and Brighton and Hove Albion’s Adam Lallana. Betway doesn’t sponsor the shirt of either of those clubs, but they are their preferred betting partners.

Betway’s sponsorship interests aren’t limited to football. Esports is becoming an increasingly important gambling market and, against all the odds, a phenomenally popular thing to watch on YouTube or on live streaming all over the world. One of the world’s biggest and most successful esports teams is Ninjas in Pyjamas, who wear the Betway name on their gaming shirts.

When it comes to horse racing, Betway is a proud sponsor of both the Cheltenham Festival and the Grand National at Aintree, thereby getting its name plastered all over the two biggest horse racing events of the year in the UK. It’s clear that the company has very deep pockets when it comes to paying for marketing. Based on the popularity of the brand, the approach seems to be paying off.

Betway On Television And YouTube

Betway’s YouTube channel is constantly active, and featured quite a few famous faces from the world of sport. You might never have wondered whether the former England test cricket captain Kevin Pietersen had any poker or casino tips for you, but he stars in several videos on the channel giving you his insight into the best way to get one over on your opponents at the card table. The snooker series on the channel is extremely popular, as it pits big names from the snooker world against each other on comedy snooker tables covered in absurd obstacles.

Bigger than the YouTube adverts, though, are the Betway television commercials. There have been plenty of them over the years, so here are a few you might remember.

2019 – Bet the Responsible Way

Responsible gambling is as big a focus in advertisements for casinos now as anything to do with the casinos themselves. However, it’s a little ironic that Betway’s most responsible gambling-focused advert was released the year before the company was found guilty of breaching several of its duties as a responsible gambling company. We go “inside the mind” of players as they debate whether or not they’re having fun and whether or not it’s a good idea to carry on playing. It’s a curious approach, as it seems more intent on convincing people not to gamble than on persuading them to sign up, but it was a signal to the public that Betway took its responsibilities seriously.

2019 – Free Bet Club

Promotions come and go quickly in the world of online casinos. 2019 is still recent history, but nothing about the 2019 “Free Bet Club” campaign by Betway is still relevant. The promotion that it was tied to no longer exists. The idea behind it was a simple one – anyone who signed up to Betway would receive one free bet on any sport of their choosing as a thank-you for signing up. The Betway advertising motif of showing conversations happening “inside the mind” of players happened in this commercial, too. It’s a strange thing to use as a recurring theme, but at least it’s memorable.

2020 – Lights On

The “Lights On” adverts are almost like mini-documentaries. They focus on sportspeople who’ve had injuries or other issues that have taken them away from their sports in the past, only for them to overcome their problems and make triumphant returns. The adverts have almost nothing to do with gambling at all – they’re more like infomercials with the Betway logo stamped on them. Many of the “Lights On” adverts are genuinely interesting to watch, which isn’t something you can often say about a commercial for a casino.

Betway in the USA

There’s a sports betting revolution happening in the United States of America at the moment, and every sport betting brand that’s big in the UK has dreams of making it big over there, too. Betway is no different. Betway Limited acquired a licence to operate in the USA in February 2021 by working in partnership with the Digital Gaming Corporation. So far, Betway has managed to launch within ten different US states. As more and more states open themselves up to sports betting, Betway is likely to continue on its American adventure and become an even bigger global brand than it already is.
