JOYA CASINO IS NOT COVERED BY A UK GAMBLING COMMISSION LICENCE.

Joya Casino is owned and operated by a Curacao-based casino network company called Provably Fair Gaming B.V., which is a name that has a touch of “The lady doth protest too much” about it. It’s like opening a pawnbrokers and calling it “Honest Pete’s.” The name of the operator isn’t the only noteworthy thing about it, though – the company also allows UK-based players to register and play at the Joya Casino sister sites despite not having a UK Gambling Commission licence. It has a Curacao eGaming licence, but that offers zero protection to players in the UK. Because of that, we have to mark the Joya Casino sister sites as unsafe for our UK audience. If you’re not part of our UK audience, keep reading to find out more about the sites.

Lotto60

Lotto60 sister sites logo

The promise that Lotto60 makes on its homepage is, “Something completely new – casino meets lotto.” If you’ve played at Tombola before, or have played any one of at least a couple of dozen Slingo games, you’ll know that there actually isn’t anything new about that idea. Still, though, it’s rare to see an entire iGaming site devoted to the concept, which is what Lotto60 is. It’s still a very new casino as of the time of writing, as is Joya Casino itself.

The newness of the casinos and their operator goes some way to explaining why Lotto60 is currently the only other member of the Joya Casino sister sites family. We expect more casinos (or, possibly, lottery sites) to be added to the collection in the future, and should that happen, we’ll add them here. In the meantime, there’s very little to say about Lotto60 other than it’s a lottery site in the vein of Lottoland or LottoGo in the UK.

Joya Casino Review 2024

Joya Casino should be exactly what its name implies it to be – a place full of joy. It doesn’t have a theme, but it’s presented with a gentle shade of purple that makes the casino feel warm and inviting. The massive banners on the homepage promise plenty of bonus treats – albeit without terms attached – and by the long list of providers, it looks like there should be plenty of entertainment on hand. Does the casino stand up to closer scrutiny? Let’s find out.

Joya Casino Welcome Offer

The headline offer at Joya Casino is a 900% matched deposit bonus split over four stages. The terms and conditions of the promotion aren’t disclosed on the casino’s homepage, but you can find them in the full terms and conditions if you keep clicking the follow links. First deposits of £30 or more are boosted at 150%. Second deposits of £60 or more get a 200% boost. Third deposits of at least £90 get a 250% boost, and fourth deposits of at least £120 get a 300% boost.

The bonus doesn’t have a stated maximum cash-out or cash value, which is unusual. In theory, that means the amount of bonus cash you can generate through the offer is unlimited so long as you’re willing to spend big. Whatever you end up with as a bonus has to be wagered x35 before it can be withdrawn, which is a fair enough wagering requirement.

Ongoing Promotions

Like a lot of Curacao-based casinos, Joya Casino has special bonuses available for those who are willing and able to use cryptocurrencies. Every Friday, crypto users can claim a 200% deposit bonus up to a maximum of £1500 with an x30 wagering requirement and no maximum cashout. The bonus can only be used on slots and keno. Even if you don’t use crypto, you can claim 20% cashback on lost deposits once per week, with an x20 wagering requirement on the refund but a maximum cashout of x2 of the amount credited as cashback.

While these are nice rewards, the meat of the promotional offers at Joya Casino can be found in its VIP scheme. There are four stages to the scheme: Lucky Gambler, High Roller, Jackpot Wizard, and Casino Conqueror. At each level of the scheme, players receive bigger loyalty bonuses, larger percentages of weekly cashback, a separate monthly cashback entitlement, a package of free spins, and an “appreciation chip” for reaching their new rank upon promotion. Other bonuses include personal account management, and special VIP event invites. VIP ranks are re-evaluated at the start of every month and are based on deposits made during the previous month, but the precise amounts of spending required for entry to each level aren’t provided.

Pros and Cons of Joya Casino

Pros: Joya Casino appears to provide an almost unlimited welcome bonus with reasonable wagering requirements attached to the bonus fund, which is a rarity anywhere in the iGaming world, let alone in Curacao. There are realistic and worthwhile VIP rewards available to players who decide to make Joya Casino their new gambling site of choice. Deposit and withdrawal options are plentiful, as are games.

Cons: Even though we can see the value of the VIP scheme, we’d like a little bit more detail about how we move from one rank to the next. Customer support is also a little flimsy – it’s unusual for a casino not to offer a point of contact on email. From a U.K. point of view, the casino is a no-go area because of its licensing status; the Curacao eGaming licence that it holds isn’t sufficient to offer protection to UK-based players.

Top Games at Joya Casino

With more than 7500 slots and games available, Joya Casino is stuffed to the brim with great titles. The catalogue can be browsed by providers if players so desire, with a special section for SpinLogic games, highlighting them as being better or more important than all the others. The provider must have a special relationship with Provably Fair Gaming B.V., which is the company behind the casino. Categories available include slots, blackjack, roulette, poker and even lottery games, which means there’s more range here than you’ll generally find with Curacao-based casinos.

With such an eclectic selection of entertainment, Joya Casino can afford to be more experimental with the games it showcases on its homepage than your average casino can. That’s why the very first game in the “Our Picks” section is “1Tap Mines,” which is a for-money version of the old Windows 95 Minesweeper game rather than a slots game. Similarly, Bermuda Triangle is a game that sees you bet on the fate of planes rather than anything to do with spinning reels. There are still thousands of slots if you’d rather stick to them, though, with Drunken Sailor, Shark Meet and Links or Ra among the site’s top offerings.

Withdrawal Processing and Support

Joya Casino aims to handle withdrawals as smoothly as possible. For sums under £3000, only basic verification is necessary. Withdrawals between £3000 and £9999 trigger additional scrutiny, requiring further documentation. Proof of fund sourcing is needed for withdrawals ranging from £10,000 to £19,999, while withdrawals exceeding this amount necessitate officially verified identity proof.

Funds can be transferred to debit cards, most major e-wallets (excluding PayPal), through bank transfers using Sepa or Interac, or via cryptocurrency. Regardless of the chosen method, players should anticipate a processing time of 24 to 96 hours. While not the quickest, withdrawals at Joya Casino are reliably secure.

Customer Support and Licensing

Unusually, the only way to contact Joya Casino is through live chat, and before you get to speak to a real human, you’ll have to navigate the robo-assistant and the FAQ first. Not having a telephone number to call is fine, but it’s a little odd that Joya Casino doesn’t offer us an email address for people who don’t have time to hang around waiting to speak to someone on chat. That’s a weakness for the casino.

Provably Fair Gaming B.V., the casino network company that owns and operates Joya Casino, holds Curacao eGaming licence 1668/JAZ. The same licence covers the Joya Casino sister sites. We’ve verified that the licence exists and is in force. That still doesn’t change the picture for players in the U.K., though – the licence offers you no protection at all, and the casino shouldn’t really be accepting sign-ups from UK-based players.

Joya Casino – The Verdict

While Joya Casino isn’t a standout from an aesthetic point of view, several other aspects of it have to be described as outstanding. The library of games that the casino offers is enormous, and the generosity of its sign-up promotion marks it out as being far more generous than ninety-nine per cent of other online casinos. Our concerns remain the same, though – the terms and conditions of the bonus promotions at the casino are too vague to be relied upon, and the lack of proper licensing means that UK-based players shouldn’t feel comfortable playing here. Until the casino obtains a U.K. Gambling Commission, we can’t mark it as safe. That’s a shame because if it did have such a licence, we’d rate it highly.

What are players saying about Joya Casino?

Here are our condensed / reader’s digest summaries of recent player reviews of Joya Casino.

  • 16-Feb-2024 by Angel:
I’ve had an amazing experience at Joya Casino. It’s the best I’ve ever played at. Their live help team is wonderful, offering me £60 to play with during a run of bad luck. However, a recent change in how bonuses are earned has left me a bit disappointed, particularly when I lost out on a £105 bonus due to this change. Despite this, I still think highly of Joya Casino and its decent RTP, and I don’t agree with it being called a scam. – source: Trustpilot
  • 10-Jan-2024 by Flippy:
I strongly advise staying away from Joya Casino due to their lack of a UK operating licence and suspicious financial activities. They’ve been miscoding deposits to bypass gambling blocks, refusing to close accounts upon request, and have been reported for their irresponsible behaviour. – source: Trustpilot
  • 01-Jan-2024 by Ben:
My experience with Joya Casino was hampered by misleading terms, a poor site layout, and an unconventional wagering system that seemed more like a trap than a bonus. Also, deposits appearing as transactions for an escort service raised further concerns. – source: Trustpilot
