The Broadway Gaming group has a habit of stuffing its second-tier casinos full of near-identical content – doubly so when they’re working on a white-label site. It would make sense for players to come and play at Slotahoy if they love the pirate theme. It’s hard to argue that there’s anything outstanding at the casino apart from the theme, but one hook is all you need so long as it works.

Slot Ranch

Howdy partner, and welcome to Slot Ranch. Of all the Health Games sister sites in all the world, you had to walk into ours. It’s fun to write Western cliches, and that’s precisely why Slot Ranch exists. The theme isn’t subtle, and it certainly isn’t clever, but it’s hard not to smile the moment you see it. From the “Old West” font to the cowgirl and the bandit who serve as your hosts and mascots at Slot Ranch, this is a well-dressed-up casino site with an emphasis on “dressed up.” We say that because if you peek behind the disguise, you’ll see that this is yet another use of the five hundred game template that also powers Slotahoy. Xl Casino

You have to work hard to justify a name like “XL Casino.” “XL” stands for “extra-large,” and so when you use the term, you’re effectively promising customers a massive casino site full-to-bursting with online slots and other casino games. That’s a high benchmark to meet because, as we’ve already seen, there are slots and casino websites out there with more than three thousand games in their collection. After all this build-up, the big question is whether XL Casino has done enough to justify the name – and the answer to the question is “no.” For all the talk on the homepage about “making it large,” this is another 500-game cookie-cutter Broadway Gaming white label casino site. The promotions at the site are also touted as being “XL,” but there isn’t much to pick between the ones here and the ones at Slot Ranch. The jackpot games section will be of interest to some, and the “hot” label gives you some insight into which games are popular with players, but aside from that, there’s no unique selling point at XL Casino.

Hippo Bingo

Hippo Bingo is probably a bingo site. That’s a weird thing to say about a site with “bingo” in its name, but Hippo Bingo is presented in a very strange way. Also, despite the name, there are no hippos on the homepage. What’s all that about?

King Jackpot

The number five appears all over the King Jackpot casino website, and we don’t just mean it because this is yet another Broadway white-label casino site that uses the same bank of 500 online slots. The number 5 is also central to the welcome offer, which tops out at £555 in matched deposit funds. We have no idea whether the number 5 is important to members of the royal family, but the king character on the promotional banner certainly seems to be happy to see it. The presence of that finely robed and crowned monarch, who stands before an enormous roulette wheel, is just about the only example of originality at the site. The Broadway cookie cutter has been brought out of the drawer yet again to create this site, and it’s as effective as it usually is. We’re not saying that the basic slots sites in this range aren’t worth playing – it’s just that it’s hard to say why you’d go to them when there are so many premier-quality casinos among the Health Games sister sites.

Health Games was launched as a white-label 888 UK Ltd site in 2018. The site is connected by both name and branding to the Health Lottery, although the Health Lottery itself isn’t and never was an  888 property. Players can feel good about playing at Health Games because a percentage of their first deposit with the site is donated to NHS Charities Together (albeit not a very large percentage). Charity begins at home, though, so does Health Games pay out to its players and offer fair rewards – especially after moving from the 888 Group to Broadway Gaming in 2022? This review is where you’ll find out.

Branding is a fairly simple exercise at Health Games because so many people are familiar with the Health Lottery logo already. Some players will even instinctively trust the casino the moment they see the logo – which is exactly what its owners wanted from the partnership. “Simple” is a word that we could use to describe the top-to-bottom design of Health Games, which is understated, inoffensive, and – if we’re being brutally honest – a little bit dull. We commend the casino for having a charity connection and turning it into a feature, but the casino has a basic design that won’t live long in the memory after you’ve left the page.

In a curious move, Health Games won’t reveal its full selection of slots and games until after a player has registered. It claims to have more than nine hundred slots in total, but you can only scroll through a handful of them before you’re prompted to either sign in or register. That’s not ideal for a new player weighing up whether or not they want to play at Health Games, and it wouldn’t surprise us if the casino had lost a few could-have-been customers because of this strange, secretive choice.

Health Games Welcome Bonuses

We always say in our reviews that welcome promotions can be amended or withdrawn at any time. We also always say that it’s important for players to check the terms of promotions themselves in case things have changed since we wrote our review. No site explains why we give those disclaimers better than Health Games. If you visit the “Offers” section of the casino site, you’ll see four welcome offers listed, all of which appear to contradict each other. There isn’t enough information to determine whether players are free to choose between them or whether this is a case of older promotions not being removed from the site when new ones are added.

Only one of those welcome offers is listed on the promotional banners of the homepage, so that’s the one we’re going to go with. The offer is a matched deposit bonus of up to £50 on a first deposit, coupled with fifty free spins on NetEnt’s gloriously popular Starburst slot. The offer is only available to those depositing a minimum of £10. Free spins have to be used within seven days, but the real catch here is that bonus funds come with a wagering requirement of x80. When the bar is set so high, the bonus almost isn’t worth having.

Monthly Promotions

There are no ongoing promotions at Health Games. The casino site doesn’t operate a VIP reward program, and there aren’t any tournaments or recurring promotions for players to get involved in. This is a big weakness compared to almost all of the Health Games sister sites – even those that use a similar portfolio of games. However, there are still a few things a new player can claim beyond the welcome offer.

Players making a second deposit of at least £10 are eligible to receive a 50% matched deposit bingo bonus (maximum value £70), a 20% matched deposit to play on slots (maximum value £50), ten free bingo tickets, and 22 free spins on a range of handpicked online slots. Health Games Pros and Cons

Pros: The biggest positive we can find for Health Games is its charitable side. Knowing that some of your money is going to support the NHS is a nice feeling, and it’s a feature that doesn’t exist at many other casino sites. The connection between Health Games and Health Lottery is strong, but not so strong that they have the same direct charity links. Health Games didn’t have to do this – but it did it anyway. If we stretch to find another positive, the game reviews in the “Gaming News” section might offer you some fresh insight into some of the more popular games on the site and perhaps a few new pieces of information you haven’t encountered elsewhere.

Cons: You’ll note that we didn’t include the casino’s gaming content in the “pros,” and that’s because it’s very hard to. The hardest thing to process about Health Games is that it offers an x80 wagering requirement on its already-stingy welcome offer and then ups that wagering requirement to a potential x99 on second deposit bonuses. That’s three times higher than the average across the UK online slots scene, and it’s very hard to justify.

Whoever designed Health Games clearly had a taste for two things – incredibly high wagering requirements and classic slots. The most prominently featured online slots at Health Games are all well-established hits from the past. We’re reasonably sure that you won’t need introducing to them, but we’ll recap anyway for anyone who’s new to our hobby.

Health Games is deserving of respect in one way because of the assistance that it provides to the NHS, but then it earns our disrespect by applying ridiculous wagering requirements to its promotions. Applying an x85 wagering requirement to welcome bonus funds is an insult. Applying an x99 wagering requirement to free spins winnings is outright crazy. The terms and conditions of this casino are neither customer friendly nor fair, and that’s reason enough to give it a wide berth – especially when so many better casinos with better terms exist on the same platform.

Although Health Games is not directly linked to the lottery scheme of The Health Lottery, they donate a small portion of deposit money to the charity cause.
