Mr Green Sister Sites

Mr Green used to be a standalone casino, but it gained sister sites when its parent company, Mr Green Limited, was sold to the William Hill Group. It got even more company when the William Hil Group was sold to the 888 Group in a multi-billion pound deal in 2021. That means all of the 888 Group’s casinos are now Mr Green sister sites. Here are some of the standout brands.

William Hill

Williamhill logo

William Hill has been around in the UK since 1934. It was started by just one man on his bicycle riding through his home town collecting bets, and now it’s a multinational corporation. It looked like William Hill was expanding when the group paid big money to acquire Mr Green, but the William Hill Group has since been acquired by the 888 Group. That means the William Hill name and brand now belong to one of the biggest iGaming entities in the world. William Hill is best known for being a sports betting company, and probably always will be. Visit the casino site today, though, and you’ll find that it offers a whole range of modern casino games, including slots, poker, bingo, and games hosted by live dealers. William Hill is an old brand that’s kept up with the times and – in the UK , at least – is the most famous of all the Mr Green sister sites.

When the people at Mr Green Limited decided to sell up to William Hill, they couldn’t have imagined that their new owners would also be sold within a year. The big-money deal technically makes Mr Green an 888 Group brand and means that 888 Casino is a Mr Green sister site. While some casinos might get lost in a shuffle like that, Mr Green appears to be thriving among its new top-class siblings. 888 Casino has been online since 1997. It’s an iGaming leviathan with several hundred thousand players and a huge media presence. Opinions will vary on whether 888 Casino is among the best casinos in the UK, but nobody can argue that it’s not one of the biggest. The flagship brand comes with everything you’d expect a major modern casino to have.

777 Casino

When the 888 Group made the surprising decision to sell almost all of its bingo and casino websites to Broadway Gaming Limited, it was practically a clear-out of every member of the Mr Green sister sites family. All of the bingo sites – even 888 Bingo – are now under new management. Only a handful of sites survived the cull – the very best of the best in the eyes of the casino operator. 777 Casino might not carry the 888 logo, but it’s still a very strong performer, and it’s stayed with the company as it moves forward into a new sports betting-focused age. 777 Casino might not offer sports betting, but it does have a very cool American desert theme and a fantastic range of online slots. We don’t think it would be outrageous to suggest that this is a better-looking casino than 888 Casino, and you’ll find plenty of players who’d go on record as saying that it’s not only graphics that are done better at 777 Casino than at 888 Casino. More than a few regular players would say that it’s a better casino overall, so if you’re looking for Mr Green sister sites, you might want to check it out.

Mr Green News

: This week, the Mr Green sister sites have introduced a delightful addition to their gaming repertoire with Chicken Night Fever, a whimsical slot game developed by Pear Fiction Studios. Set in a lively henhouse, this game offers a unique and entertaining experience with its chicken-themed design and engaging features. The game boasts 5 reels, 3 rows, and initially 243 ways to win, which can expand up to 7,776 ways with the innovative Split Chicken feature. Players can place bets ranging from a minimum of £0.20 to a maximum of £50. Chicken Night Fever stands out with an RTP (Return to Player) of 96.09% and a hit frequency of 35.28%, offering a balance of risk and reward with its medium volatility. The game’s maximum win potential is an impressive 5000x the bet, providing ample opportunity for significant payouts. The slot’s engaging features include Wild Symbols, Free Spins, Chicken SwiftHits Symbols, and a Bonus Buy option for those eager to jump straight into the action.

Mr Green Chicken Night Fever

The game’s design is a charming depiction of a wooden henhouse, complete with chickens, eggs, and barrels, creating an immersive farmyard atmosphere. The symbols range from lower-paying ones like J, Q, K, and A, to higher-paying ones represented by colourful chickens. The Wild Symbol, designed as a chicken wing with the text “WILD,” and the Scatter Symbol, a disco ball with “Free Spins,” add to the game’s dynamic. The Free Spins feature, triggered by landing Scatter Symbols, includes a Free Spins Wheel that determines the number of spins and the starting multiplier value, enhancing the excitement of the gameplay.

: This festive season, the Mr Green sister sites have introduced a unique slot game for those looking for an alternative to the traditional Christmas cheer. 3 Books of Krampus by Live 5 offers a darker twist on holiday-themed slots, featuring the mythical figure Krampus. This game diverges from the usual festive slots, providing a spooky antithesis to the typical Santa-themed games. The slot operates on a 5×3 layout with 10 betways, offering a balanced platform for potential wins. Players can start their eerie adventure with a minimum bet of 10p, going up to a maximum of £10. The game incorporates the popular ‘Book of’ mechanics, which includes Free Spins with the potential to accrue additional spins, and the bonus symbol which doubles as a scatter and wild. These features enhance the gameplay and increase the chances of winning, with a maximum win potential of x5000.

However, one aspect of “3 Books of Krampus” that might deter some players is its disappointingly low Return to Player (RTP) rate of 92.02%. This RTP is significantly lower than the 96% average for most modern slot games, which might cause some slot players to give this game a wide berth. Despite this, the game promises a unique and thrilling experience for those seeking a holiday slot with a dark twist. The graphics are centred around the holidays but with a horror twist, incorporating elements like snowmen, monsters, and the ominous figure of Krampus. The game’s technology supports JS and HTML5, ensuring smooth gameplay across various devices.

: Mr Green is currently offering an enticing promotion for players who enjoy the thrill of fishy online slots. This offer focuses on the popular game Big Bass Splash, known for its engaging theme and potential for big wins. Players have the chance to receive 5 free spins, which are provided at no cost. The highlight of the much-adored slot game is its free spins feature, where players can benefit from the wild fisherman symbol that can reel in cash prizes. Additionally, the game offers the possibility of increasing multipliers, which can go up to 10x, especially if you collect enough wild symbols during your play. To participate in this promotion, players need to follow a few simple steps: opt into the promotion by hitting the ‘opt In’ button, open the Big Bass Splash game, and accept the free spins when the pop-up appears.

Mr Green Big Bass Splash

It’s important to note that this promotion is available once per customer and is active from 00:00:01 (UK time) on 12th December 2023 until 23:59:59 (UK time) on 14th December 2023. The free spins are exclusively for use on Big Bass Splash and are valued at £0.10 per spin. One of the most appealing aspects of this offer is that any winnings are paid in cash and are not subject to any wagering requirements. However, players should be aware that these spins expire 24 hours after they are issued. This promotion is only available to players in the UK with a GBP account. By opting in, players agree to the full terms and conditions of the offer. Unused spins will be automatically removed from the account at the end of the bonus period.

: On the 5th of December, iGaming Business announced a significant development in the Danish betting and online casino industry with the inclusion of Playtech and Evolution Gaming as the latest members of Spillebranchen, Denmark’s trade association. This move is seen as a strategic step towards promoting best practices within the industry. Spillebranchen is committed to fostering a responsible and sustainable gaming market, and the addition of these two renowned gaming providers is expected to strengthen its efforts. They join other prominent industry members such as Bet365, Betsson, Betfair, Danske Licens Spil, Entain, Kindred Group, LeoVegas, and the Mr Green sister sites. The association believes that the expertise and insights of Playtech and Evolution will be invaluable in their joint efforts to shape the future of online gambling both in Denmark and internationally. This collaboration is anticipated to benefit the members, the industry, and the numerous individuals who engage in gambling responsibly.

However, this positive development comes amid growing concerns over underage gambling in Denmark. A recent study conducted by the Denmark regulator Spillemyndigheden revealed that approximately 15% of young people aged between 15 and 17 have engaged in gambling activities. The study highlighted that 68% of these young gamblers placed sports bets, while 42% played online casino games. Additionally, 21% participated in lotteries and scratchcards, and 4% were involved in other gambling activities. Alarmingly, 35% of young people were found to be involved in skin betting, a feature in video games where players can win virtual items. Furthermore, the study indicated that 4% of all calls made to the StopSpillet gambling helpline were from players under 18, suggesting that young people are at risk of developing gambling-related issues from an early age.

: Silent Bet’s recent review of Mr Green Casino, meticulously conducted after reading 23 articles, testing the platform for 47 hours, and comparing it with 12 other popular brands, presents a detailed analysis of this renowned online gambling brand. The review highlights the casino’s strengths, such as its extensive range of games, including slots, video poker, live dealer games, blackjack, jackpots, baccarat, and roulette. These games are powered by top software providers like NetEnt and Evolution Gaming, ensuring high-quality and engaging gaming experiences. As Silent Bet found, the casino also offers a mobile app for both Android and iOS, enhancing accessibility and convenience for players.

Mr Green Great Review

However, the review does not shy away from pointing out the cons. Notably, Mr Green Casino does not accept cryptocurrency payments, a feature that is becoming increasingly common in online casinos. This is an unusual point of criticism from Silent Bet, as not many reputable platforms have embraced crypto payments yet. So on the flip side, the casino’s commitment to security and fairness is evident, with licensing from the UK Gambling Commission and the use of random number generators to ensure unbiased game outcomes. The review also touches upon the user-friendly design and structure of the Mr Green website, its easy registration process, and the variety of payment methods available; crypto aside, obviously! As a final quite literal bonus, the welcome bonus and other promotions are generous, adding value to the player’s experience from the very first deposit. Furthermore, the casino’s customer support is available 24/7, ensuring that players’ queries and concerns are promptly addressed.

: Slingshot Studios, in partnership with Games Global, has crafted a new game that’s making waves across Mr Green sister sites – Loot Boost. This slot takes inspiration from the well-received Game of Thrones Power Stacks, with its Link&Win feature being a primary draw for players looking for a blend of familiarity and innovation. Loot Boost transports players into a tranquil environment, far removed from the high-octane energy of many contemporary slots. The setting is peaceful, with sparkling waters and a calm soundtrack that offers a respite from the typically adrenaline-fueled slot sessions. The aesthetic design and audio elements coalesce to provide a gaming experience that is as soothing as it is engaging. The game mechanics of Loot Boost feature a 5-reel, 4-row layout with 40 paylines to assess wins. Stakes are flexible, accommodating a range from 20p to £50 per spin, catering to a diverse set of players. The slot is built on a medium volatility model, offering a respectable RTP of 96.05%.

The symbols of Loot Boost are designed to be as airy as the game’s overall feel, with a range of fruits and card suits making up the lower and higher ends of the paytable respectively. Wilds are the most lucrative, offering 10x the bet for a five-of-a-kind win. The slot’s bonus features add depth to the gameplay, with Power Stacks, Ultra Link&Win, and free spins all providing opportunities for significant wins. The Max Mode, a standout addition, enhances the Ultra Link&Win rounds with extra rows, boosting the win potential significantly. Loot Boost’s win potential caps at 4,000x the bet, and while it may not promise the stratospheric payouts of some high-variance slots, it offers a balanced mix of relaxed play and exciting winning possibilities.

: The digital age has ushered in countless conveniences, among which is the rise of mobile casinos, granting players the thrill of the game right at their fingertips. In its recent roundup, The Herald spotlighted several noteworthy platforms, with one casino, in particular, earning high accolades for its commitment to players: Mr Green. The distinction that this platform holds lies not just in its vast assortment of games or seamless interface. The genuine star feature, as emphasised by The Herald, is its round-the-clock customer care. Imagine being in a nail-biting game, only to encounter a technical glitch or have a pressing query about a game rule. In such times, swift and effective support becomes crucial. With its 24/7 customer service, players on this platform can expect prompt resolution, ensuring that their gaming experience remains uninterrupted and enjoyable.

Mr Green The Herald

In addition to this feature, the extensive game libraries attached to the Mr Green sister sites and secure gaming environments further solidify their standing as a top mobile casino destination. The site is not just about gameplay; it’s about offering a holistic experience where players feel valued and supported. While the casino stands tall, The Herald’s roundup also included other mobile casinos worth exploring. Names like LeoVegas, Royal Panda, and Casumo were lauded for their impressive offerings and commitment to ensuring a delightful gaming experience for users. All in all, for players seeking real cash wins on trusted platforms, these recommendations by The Herald serve as a guiding light in the ever-expanding universe of mobile casinos.

Mr Green Review 2024

Mr Green began 2020 under the ownership of Mr Green Limited. By the end of the year, it belonged to the William Hill International Group. By the end of 2021, things had changed again, and it belonged to the 888 Group. It’s been a turbulent few years for the green casino, so how has it held up? It’s won awards in the past, but is it likely to win any in the future now it’s lost its independence?

Mr Green sister sites homepage

Mr Green Welcome Promotions

Ever since 888 bought WHG International, it feels like Mr Green has been suffering death by a thousand cuts. Before it was bought by WHG International, Mr Green offered a large matched deposit welcome promotion. After the takeover, it switched to a small free spins bonus for new players. Now, with WHG International owned by 888, the casino doesn’t offer any sign-up bonuses whatsoever. Never mind not rolling out the red carpet; Mr Green doesn’t roll out any carpets at all.

Monthly Promotions at Mr Green

Nine times out of ten, when a casino doesn’t offer a welcome bonus, it doesn’t offer any other bonuses either. Mr Green isn’t the one-in-ten exception to the rule. This once-proud site, which used to have a market-leading VIP program and some tasty bonuses for its live card tables, now offers no bonuses at all. While some players might prefer this approach because they can play in the safe knowledge that whatever they win is theirs to keep, with no sticky bonus terms getting in the way, the majority of modern players have become accustomed to getting a little something extra when they place deposits. The fact that Mr Green offers literally nothing on that front is bound to hurt its standing.

What are the Pros and Cons of Mr Green?

Pros: Based on the above, there’s a limit to what we can say in this category, but we’ll focus on the casino’s withdrawal policy. So long as you have an e-wallet, you should be able to get instant withdrawals from Mr Green. Even if your withdrawal isn’t instant, you shouldn’t be waiting any longer than two hours. We’ll tip our (bowler) hat to the casino’s selection of slots and games, too – it has plenty to offer, including quite a few exclusives.

Cons: The lack of promotions at Mr Green make the site objectively weaker than almost any other UK-facing big-name casino we can think of. The lack of promotional bite means that the casino is likely to start feeling drab after a while. To make matters worse, it also charges for withdrawals. That’s just not cricket.

Featured Slots and Casino Games

The top featured slot at Mr Green Casino at the time of writing is 5 Clans: The Final Battle by Reflex Gaming. It’s an epic fantasy slot with strong “Game of Thrones” influences, and was released in November 2021. The graphics look strangely dated for such a recent release, but there’s nothing dated about the free spins with multipliers, stacked wilds, respins, and random reel modifiers that could kick in at any time. RTP is 96.02% and volatility is high.

Eye of Horus: Eye of Horus has been a surprise success for Reel Time Gaming. It’s far from the prettiest Egyptian-themed slot on the block, but has managed to attract thousands of players through its combination of expanding wilds and upgradable symbols, which makes wins more valuable each times. Those wins are backed by 96.31% RTP, with average volatility.

Lucky Mr Green: This slot was created by Red Tiger specifically for Mr Green. You won’t find it on any other casino – not even the Mr Green sister sites. The slot is a deliberately old-school style five-reeler, but surprises players with modern twists like 3×3 mega symbols and a prize-picker feature where finding Mr Green’s hat is crucial to your success. RTP is 95.07%, and volatility is a touch above average.

Mr Green Banner

Withdrawal Processing and Support

As we’ve said a couple of times already in this review, the most efficient way to get your money out of Mr Green is to use an e-wallet. If that wallet is with PayPal or Neteller, you should get your money somewhere between instantly and within two hours. The same speed applies to withdrawals made to a Paysafecard, which is handy. Skrill is also an e-wallet option, and usually yields instant withdrawals, but the site warns that a delay of up to two days sometimes applies. We don’t know why that should be the case.

Trustly or debit card withdrawals are processed in between three and five working days, and bank transfers take between one and five working days. The casino’s full terms and conditions make reference to fees applying to some withdrawals, but we don’t have clarity over which withdrawals, or how big the fees might be. We presume they’re nominal.

Customer Services and Licensing

The only way to speak to a support agent at Mr Green is through live chat. You should find that there’s an operative available twenty-four hours a day.  Mr Green Casino holds a license with the UK Gambling Commission via Mr Green Limited under account number 39264. The same licence is available to cover all the Mr Green sister sites. In March 2023, Mr Green elected to pay £3.75m in lieu of a fine after accepting a UKGC charge that it had failed to carry out appropriate risk assessments on customers, failed to take into account social responsibility code provision, and failed to identify instances of individual customers holding multiple accounts.

Mr Green – The Verdict

Mr Green is not the casino it once was. The promotions that made it special have largely disappeared, and it’s doubtful it will ever be as big a priority to the 888 Group or the William Hill Group as it was to its original owners. It has a fine game selection and it can provide fast withdrawals, but it feels like we’re losing it a piece at a time. It wouldn’t totally shock us to find out Mr Green wasn’t here anymore in a year or two – it gives us the impression of a brand that’s winding down in the UK.

Customer service is appalling. I waited for 20 minutes before getting a response. Stay away from this company to avoid the hell they put you through. – source: Trustpilot
  • 19-Apr-2024 by Courtney:
Absolutely awful! They allowed my sister, who is a gambling addict, to sign up in my name and would not refund any money. This is a fraud casino. – source: Trustpilot
  • 14-Apr-2024 by Jayd:
I wouldn’t even give this a 1 star. I deposited so much money on this site and got not one bonus or win. Do not waste your money here; it’s better off down the drain! – source: Trustpilot
  • 12-Apr-2024 by Thomas:
It took 1938 spins with double chance to get a bonus on any of their slots. Minimal RTP and a total waste of money. Where do they get their license from? – source: Trustpilot
  • 10-Apr-2024 by Martin:
Where do I start… Signed up a few days ago, never got my bonus spins, and made three £20 deposits with no bonuses or free spins. Then, my account was blocked for a self-exclusion from one of their parent casinos. The customer service was very rude when I asked for my money back, simply saying no. I’m taking this further; it’s not about the money but about their conduct. – source: Trustpilot
  • 08-Apr-2024 by Emma:
You never win anything here. Bonuses never activate. Don’t waste your time or money on this scam site. It used to be good and fair, but not anymore. – source: Trustpilot
  • 03-Apr-2024 by Sarah:
They let me join and deposit, then shut down my account due to me being excluded from one of the Mr Green sister sites. They are holding my money and keep fobbing me off with promises to return it. It’s been a week now, but it only took them seconds to take my money and close my account. I strongly advise reporting them to the gambling commissioners. – source: Trustpilot
  • 03-Apr-2024 by Mohammed:
Avoid at all costs. I won £80,000, and they blocked my account requesting further identification. Despite providing it repeatedly, they delayed my withdrawal and allowed me to play with the pending funds but not withdraw them. Eventually, I lost it all back to them. This is not a genuine casino site. – source: Trustpilot

Absolutely shocking support and site. They blocked my account when I hit a bonus feature. – source: Trustpilot

Mr Green Sporting Sponsorships

Mr Green is undoubtedly one of the biggest casino companies in the UK, known by millions. Most casino companies that match that description have at least one active sponsorship in English football, but Mr Green isn’t like most companies. It’s been active in football shirt sponsorship recently, but not in England.

Football fans in Ireland have seen Mr Green’s name and logo a lot in recent times, as until recently they were the main shirt sponsor of Bohemians, the oldest Irish football team of them all. The sponsorship deal ended in 2020.

Mr Green Bohemians

Although not quite as visible, Mr Green has also been involved with Scottish Premiership giants Celtic in recent years. The company didn’t go quite as far as sponsoring the famous green and white shirts of the legendary team, but they sponsor match days, VIP experiences, and merchandising partners of the Bhoys.

Away from football, Mr Green has been known to sponsor the occasional sporting event. Most notably, it sponsored the Professional Darts Corporation Players Championship Finals in 2017.

Working With A Cricketing Great

Although celebrity partnerships don’t seem to be the done thing at Mr Green, they made an exception for the former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan in 2017. The Ashes-winning sporting legend agreed to become Mr Green’s official “sports gent,” helping the brand to promote its sports betting platform in the UK.

As part of the deal, Vaughan repeatedly appeared in videos posted on Mr Green’s official YouTube channel as well as other media platforms. In most of his appearances, he gave his opinions and insight on forthcoming sporting events, including The Ashes. He even gave out the occasional betting tip!

Mr Green Michael Vaughan

Under New Ownership

For a long time, Mr Green was an independent company offering slots, casino games, and sports bets on its own terms from a base in Malta. The company was launched by three Swedish gaming veterans in 2008. That changed in 2019 when William Hill Plc bought out the successful brand. At the time, the value of the deal was reported to be £242m. It was a big-money deal for Mr Green’s owners and also a huge step forward for the brand. William Hill is one of the biggest names in betting but also one of the oldest. Mr Green was still seen as a young, up and coming company that could breathe fresh life into its new parent company.

A long and successful working partnership was probably envisaged when Mr Green was welcomed into the William Hill tent, but that’s not how things worked out. Just two years later, William Hill found itself up for sale. The non-American assets of the company – including Mr Green – were acquired by 888 in September 2021. This time, the purchase price was £2.2bn. Mr Green finds itself with another new owner – and their plans for the popular brand are yet to be seen. The name still has value, though, and there’s no reason to believe that 888 will want to do anything with the brand other than continue growing it.

Mr Green commercials used to be as regular as clockwork on British television. All of the commercials starred the same character, dressed impeccably in a green suit with a green bowler hat. The first commercial appeared in 2012, with the character sitting in a magic chair that could seemingly travel all over the universe at the push of a button. The most prominently featured casino game in the advert is NetEnt’s Starburst, which is a reminder of how long the iconic slot has been around for.

A second commercial began to air the following year, promoting the idea of being able to play Mr Green’s casino games on mobile devices no matter where you are. The bowler-hatted character is shown walking past windows projecting Mr Green content into people’s front room with a flick of his umbrella, and driving taxis and providing Mr Green games to the people in his back seat. By the time they aired their next major commercial campaign in 2016, the company had won the “mobile operator of the year” award from the IGA.

Mr Green Advert

There hasn’t been a televised Mr Green commercial since 2017. The last one was barely fifteen seconds long and showcased nothing more than a few of the online slots games available on the website. By that time, the company seemed to be more interested in sports sponsorships. There have been few Mr Green adverts of any kind since the business was sold to William Hill.

An Award-Winning Company

Prior to its acquisition by William Hill, Mr Green had made a happy habit out of winning awards. We’ve already mentioned the “mobile operator award” that it picked up in 2016. That’s just one of a clutch of awards that the casino brand likes to remind players about on its company website.

Mr Green was the IGA’s “online casino operator of the year” for three years running in 2013, 2014, and 2015. In 2014 it was also the EGR’s “casino brand of the year.” The IGA recognised Mr Green as the “online gaming operator of the year” in 2017 and the “socially responsible” casino brand of the year in 2018. The EGR gave the company an almost identical award in 2019 and also named them as the best mobile operator the same year. Mr Green hasn’t won an industry award since it lost its independence and became a William Hill brand. That might be something that 888 seeks to address in years to come.

Cleaning The Sea

At the risk of sounding cliched, Mr Green is a casino that’s green by name and green by nature. The casino announced a project called “Clean The Sea” in 2017, aimed at working towards cleaning up pollution and litter in the Mediterranean Sea. It’s a collaborative project that also involves the International Ocean Institute and the University of Malta.

The precise details of what Mr Green does as a company as part of the cleanup effort aren’t listed anywhere, but on its website, it talks about “committing to the cause” and spreading knowledge about environmental issues.
